We're excited to be returning to the wonderful National Trust, Heritage and Rural Skills Centre, Swindon in early October.
On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th we will be hosting two CPD accredited courses, The Art of Traditional Faux Marbling and The Art of Traditional Wood Graining.
These two endangered crafts courses are aimed at those who have had some previous experience with decorative paint techniques or for those who have completed one of our beginners or fundamentals classes.
We will assume that you have a good understanding of the craft and that you are able to dive straight into the creation of your chosen marble or wood finish.
We can't wait to welcome you there, and we look forward to a packed fun day of creativity.

A wonderful weekend visit to Goodnestone Park! 🏛️✨

As decorative painters, we couldn’t help but admire the magnificent Grade II* listed architecture—especially the stunning marble fireplaces and beautifully crafted period furniture. The depth of veining and historic detail throughout the estate is a constant source of inspiration for our own faux marble creations.

We finished the visit with a peaceful walk through the glorious gardens and a well-deserved stop at the Old Dairy Café for refreshments. If you’re exploring Kent, it comes highly recommended! ☕🍰

Another brilliant day of decorative paint techniques at the glorious Weald and Downland Living Museum. This time we looked at all things related to the Art and Craft of Wood Graining, another one of our ancient skills that we are endanger of losing, without ongoing training and support.

On our way back to the glorious Gridshell The Weald and Downland Living Museum today to deliver two days of heritage decorative paint techniques courses.
We will be introducing two groups of heritage craft enthusiasts to faux marbling, on the Wednesday and wood graining on the Thursday, both have been placed on the red list of endangered crafts. Our aim is to ensure that these ancient skills are continuing to be taught to students across the UK and survive for the next generation of master crafts men and women.

We had another great day at the National Trust, Heritage and Rural Skills Centre, Swindon. This time we were showcasing and demonstrating four of our most asked for decorative paint techniques, faux marbling, wood graining, crackle glaze and malachite stone.
Participants were then asked to have a go and get stuck in with mixing glazes and trying out some of the tools and brushes used in heritage conservation and restoration.
We are looking forward to holding our popular CPD courses in heritage faux marbling and wood graining at the Skills Centre in early October this year.
