These are all in sterling silver, with lovely enamelling depicting traditional Scandinavian or floral motifs, and making them stunning additions to our range of quality vintage jewellery.

Another sunny summer's day in Kirkcaldy yesterday at Kirkcaldy Antiques, Collectable & Retro Fair. Good to catch up with everyone again after the summer break. And lovely to see so many of our regular customers. Thanks to everyone who came through the door and especially to those who bought from us.

As always, a special thanks to the organisers - Jules and his family, for putting on a great fair once again.

No time to rest now though, as our next fair is less than a week away on Saturday 5th September, at Queen Margaret Hall, Linlithgow.

Make sure you keep getting our updates by hitting "Like" or commenting on our posts. We love to hear from you.

In the meantime you can still catch us at Fleming's Antique Centre in Inverkeithing and at ThistleDo2 in Cowdenbeath.

We are back in Kirkcaldy on Saturday 29th August for our third visit of the year to St Bryce Kirk.

It's been a long hot summer and so much seems to have happened since our last visit at the end of May. Whether you stayed home or found some far-flung beach; or were captivated by the World Cup, Wimbledon or the Commonwealth Games; the many arts and music festivals; or by a host of local galas and highland games. We hope you had a great summer.

And it's not over yet. Kirkcaldy Antiques Fair will have been widely anticipated by regulars and newcomers alike. Held in St Bryce Kirk, there will be 5 halls filled with traders, and an award-winning cafΓ© to unwind with a coffee and a snack.

We will have our usual mix of vintage and contemporary jewellery, vintage cameras, old toy cars, medals and medallions, glassware, ceramics and a varied array of antique and vintage wares. With prices ranging from a couple of pounds to several hundreds, there will be something for every budget.

You will find us in our usual place in the foyer area; just turn right after coming through the doors.

After a couple of months off, we prepare once more for another merry-go-round of fairs. And it's going to be a busy few weeks, with visits to 3 of our regular fairs - starting this coming Saturday at Kirkcaldy; then on to Linlithgow on 5-Sep and Bridge of Allan on 26-Sep.

We had hoped to be at Broughty Ferry on the 12-Sep, but due to other commitments we cannot now attend.

So before the summer is out, let's go once more onto the merry-go-round 🎠

Sounds like a great idea - breakfast at Fleming's, and then a wee check of the unit at the antique centre.

Most of us will be familiar with the sirens used during World War II to warn of impeding air raids (even those of us lucky enough not to experience this in real life). But Air Raid Wardens and civil defence teams also used whistles and handbells to warn of danger.

Air Raid Wardens were civilian volunteers who kept people safe during enemy bombing. Over 1.4 million men and women served in this role, patrolling neighborhoods, enforcing the night blackout, guiding residents to shelters, and coordinating emergency response. They wore a distinctive "W" helmet and were equipped with a whistle and often a handbell to alert neighbourhoods of any dangers.

We have an example of an Air Raid Warden's handbell in our unit at Flemings, Inverkeithing. It is stamped ARP and the date of 1939. This is real piece of wartime history, which no doubt helped save many lives. We have it priced at Β£70.

Flemings is located on Boreland Road, Inverkeithing, near to the railway station and is open Mon-Sat 9am-5pm.
