It’s all in the detail.

From fabrics and finishes to paint, lighting and colour, we’ve been carefully curating every layer for Kirk & Co - bringing INTERIOR35’s core design principles into the space to create an interior that feels considered, layered and distinctive.

This is at the heart of what we do at INTERIOR35, and it’s been incredibly special to bring that everyday design thinking into a project that so closely reflects who we are.

Seeing these choices begin to appear in the building has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey so far.

2026 is already off to a strong start.

Inside the church, the transformation has been incredible to see. Colour is beginning to shape the space, highlighting the architectural features of this stunning building - a huge credit to David and his team at Ross & Co Painters & Decorators.

Across the site, progress continues. Electrical work is moving forward, with original fixtures now being carefully reinstalled alongside new lighting that’s beginning to elevate each space. INTERIOR35 will be relocating soon into our freshly painted interior design pod - something we’re very excited about.

It’s been a real team effort to reach this point, and we’re hugely grateful to everyone involved. With Catriona back on site behind the camera capturing the progress, we’re looking forward to sharing more corners of the building with you.

So in love with these doors - and thrilled that they’ll soon be open to the public.

We’ve started the year at pace, with a full team of painters working their way around the church and electricians busy with the final fit-out. At the same time, we’ve been finalising flooring, exploring shop and café layouts, designing custom light fixtures and placing orders as both the renovation and our stock collection continue to grow.

Snow on the ground or not, it’s full steam ahead in Munlochy ❄️

What a year.

2025 has been a big one for INTERIOR35 and Kirk & Co.

At the church, things have really started to take shape. Structural steelwork, glass balustrading, our internal design studio pod, fully re-wired electrics and new wood burning stoves have all now been installed, with the café, kitchen and bathrooms taking shape.

None of this would have been possible without the most brilliant team of tradespeople who have been deeply invested in the project and an absolute joy to work alongside.

We’ve also been loving the process of gathering stock for the retail space - curating a collection from trusted suppliers while also creating our own unique pieces. From upholstering antique furniture and developing custom fabrics, cushions and throws, to commissioning artwork for our own collection of cards and posters, it’s been incredibly exciting to see this side of the project come together.

Throughout the year, we’ve continued with interior design projects across Inverness, Thurso, Ullapool, Forres, Findhorn and even Kuwait. We’re so grateful to our wonderful clients for trusting us with their homes - building those relationships has been one of the real highlights of the year.

As we head into 2026, it feels like everything is gathering pace - pushing on with finishes, decorating, collecting stock and bringing it all together. We’re hugely grateful to everyone who’s been part of this journey so far, and so excited for what’s to come.
