Just a reminder only 4 weeks left to get your filled shoeboxes back to us or any blythswood shop. We have spare shoebox leaflets at the counter. If you’re busy, there’s also an option to donate £28 to Blythswood and they will fill 2 shoeboxes for Pakistan for you (link below) Since the appeal began Blythswood have distributed 2.8 million filled shoeboxes to churches, schools, hospitals, orphanages, care homes, and to households in very low-income communities throughout Eastern Europe and further afield. Many have gone to people affected by the war in Ukraine. 4 weeks left! 🎁

Hi everyone,
I just want to clarify the reason behind the card-only policy which has been in place at the shop since 2020. This was a purely personal decision I made because it makes the day-to-day running of the shop much easier for me. Juggling the shop, family and life can sometimes get a bit overwhelming so I made the decision to remain cashless after Covid. I completely understand that not everyone agrees with that decision, and please know it is not intended to make things difficult for anyone.
On occasion, we have allowed a customer who has no card, usually a child, to place their cash in the charity box and we have gifted the item to avoid disappointment. We obviously cannot repeatedly give stock away throughout the day as we are just a small business and sometimes have just a handful of customers in a day. We do not handle any cash and give the piggy bank to whichever local charity when full. In August £629 went to The Haven Centre & our current piggy bank is for SNAP.
I am so grateful to the girls in the shop who do their very best to adhere to the policies I put in place. I couldn’t manage the shop (and life) without them. Thank you to all our amazing customers for your understanding and for your kindness to our tiny team. If anyone would like to discuss this or any other issue I am happy to chat in person or telephone when I am in the shop each Thursday.
