Purple-Bug Pottery Unique & Individual Pottery, Handmade in the Highlands I am a now a potter and an artist, but I will always be a teacher.

Purple-Bug Pottery is a small business which I am now devoting my time to, having moved to The Highlands of Scotland for a change of life over 7 years ago and I can highly recommend following your dreams! I was an Assistant Headteacher for many years and as I have left the teaching profession I have decided on a career change. I love nothing more than sitting at my potters wheel creating beautiful

pieces of pottery. Having developed 2 distinct glaze combinations, I am now at the point of expanding my reach and will be offering small scale trade sales, on top of providing one-to-one pottery tuition, including residential courses. Having been previously been known as Purple-Bug Crafts, many will know I also do watercolour painting, which I print onto home wares and cards.

Looking forward to bringing them all to .east which is being held at The Exchange, Thainstone Centre, on the 25th & 26th April - that's this month!!!

So many incredible potters to buy from, workshops to partake in and demonstrations to watch!

First glaze fire, kiln unloading of 2026, and with it the launch of my new Teacups & Saucers. I'm utterly delighted with these and hope you like them too. There are 4 of these, plus a teapot headed out to Malta later this year. How.amazong is that 😊💜

It's been a busy year in the pottery and I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has bought a pot, chatted to me, recommended me or been potting with me.

Sorry I've been so quite, but lots going on behind the scenes, plus a wee unexpected holiday followed by the lurgy!
Anyhow, delighted to be attending my last 2 events for 2025....

Tonight, Friday 5th I am at for their huge Christmas fair. Always a fabulous events, with lots of vendors and visitors. Open from6-9pm.

Tomorrow, Saturday 6th sees the return of the incredible Belladrum Yuletide Fayre, hosted by Last year was so much fun and I met some wonderful people. Im very much looking forwards to being there again. Mince pies, mulled wine, pizza, music and a whole host of utterly fabulous vendors. Pop along and enjoy a day out from 11am to 6pm.

Oh, and by the way, it's the perfect time of year for a Toadstool Treat Dish! 🍄

Storm Amy may be arriving, butnotjing is going to stop the first ever in Inverness this weekend. On from 10am - 4pm both Saturday & Sunday.
