Only three weeks to go until the winter market at with ! I’m excited to be part of this amazing event and can’t wait to share my work with you all. Ceramics plates—my ultimate nemesis😖. Seriously, there are just so many ways for things to go sideways. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a beautiful plate come out of the kiln only to find cracks creeping across its surface like it’s trying to tell a story of all the things that went wrong. Then there’s the glaze dripping issue—let’s not even get started on that. My heart drops every time I see it clinging to the edge, ruining the clean lines I worked so hard to create.

And don’t get me started on the firing process. It’s a whole thing. My kiln is like a tiny, overworked minion that can only fit one plate per shelf, which means I have to play this waiting game that feels like eternity. It takes ages to finally get everything fired, and I have to remind myself that it’s worth it when I see the finished product. However, the firing costs aren’t just a casual line item; they add up quick. For a mini shop like mine, each plate feels like a small investment, and it can be hard to justify that when you’re not sure how things will turn out.

But when everything lines up just right, and I finally get a plate out that reflects the vision I had—like this one with its two petals shape and that gorgeous💕🤍

I love making vases.

When I was young, I worked at a flower shop for just three days before giving it up. I was too young to understand that every job has different sides—not everything is as glamorous as it might seem.

Over the years, I tried different jobs and explored many interests before finding my way to clay.

A conversation with Belinda Glennon Ceramics at the fair last weekend got me thinking more deeply about my work. Thank you for asking such thoughtful questions and inspiring me to reflect on the key elements in my art. I know they can be difficult to define, but making vases is meaningful to me. Each piece holds something special.

This piece, *Ivory Bloom*, is full of texture. It looks soft, yet carries the strength of something growing.

It’s made me wonder: What key elements do you want your art to hold? What do you hope people feel when they encounter it?

Making pottery is one skill. Filming myself making pottery? That’s a whole other skill—and I’m still learning! 🎥🏺

It usually takes me about four hours to throw and assemble all the parts of a teapot. This time, filming stretched the process into a full day… and then I spent another hour or two editing all that footage into 38 seconds. 😅

Unbelievable how much time goes into a little video! Hope you enjoy watching the process 🤍

This piece finally came out of the kiln! I couldn’t decide what colour to use or whether to try something different or play it safe.

I already knew it had a crack from the bisque firing, and there was no fixing it. So instead of making something familiar, I decided to take a chance and try something new.

The purple slip with the matte white glaze turned out surprisingly gorgeous (i think :> ) —and kind of romantic. I’ll definitely be making more!

Since opening my shop in July, I’ve been making mugs and cups to fill all those beautiful Japanese cabinets. It’s been lovely seeing them fill up!

Now I get to move on to one of my favourite things to make: teapots. I love the whole process, from throwing and trimming to putting all the pieces together. Today I threw a few off the hump on the wheel—it’s such a quick and easy way to make a little batch.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to my very first showcase party yesterday! 😘😘😘

As an introvert, organising a party took a lot of courage. I came up with plenty of reasons to postpone it—or even cancel—but I’m so glad I went ahead. A special, heartfelt thank-you to my pottery friends for all your support. I honestly don’t think I could have done it without you.

Life is full of challenges and surprises. I left Hong Kong two years ago thinking my pottery “career” might end there. Little did I know what was waiting around the corner. This little shop found me and helped set me back on track. When a chance comes your way, be brave enough to take it.

Yesterday was full of love, hugs, laughter and such lovely memories. Thank you again to everyone who came and shared this special moment with me. 🥰🏺

🌟 Exciting news, everyone! After working on this sculpture piece since mid-August, it’s finally out of the kiln and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! 😍✨

I know I didn’t capture every moment of the process (missed a few steps like the glaze spray—whoops!), but the end result is just perfect. 🎨❤️

Join me this Friday at 6 PM for a showcase party where I’ll display this new sculpture and more of my work. I can’t wait to share it with all of you! 🥳
