If you’re a candle person, you’ll want to make sure you have a proper look at Lumiscents when you’re at the market.

This family-run Scottish business handcrafts 100% natural soy wax candles, wax melts, reed diffusers and room sprays, with fragrances blended to create some seriously lovely combinations.

We’re talking rhubarb, cherries and mint, smoky oud and vanilla, plum and pomegranate, and even a Single Malt scent 👀

They also make wood wick candles, so you get that lovely little crackle while they burn, which is basically the candle equivalent of putting your feet up.

And choosing a favourite scent? That might be the difficult bit.

Come for a browse, have a sniff, and see which one you end up taking home. Sniffs are free 😉

🎉 ONE YEAR ON JOHN FINNIE STREET! 🎉

Today marks one whole year since we opened the doors to our new LumieScents home in Kilmarnock — and what a year it has been! 💙

LumieScents began back in 2020, and after five amazing years in Stewarton, we took a pretty big leap and moved to John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock.

A year later, we can genuinely say that Kilmarnock has welcomed us with open arms.

Over the past 12 months, we’ve made so many new friends, welcomed countless new customers through our doors, worked alongside some brilliant local businesses and met so many people who have gone out of their way to support our wee family business.

We’ve also had fantastic support from East Ayrshire Council and the wider local business community, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us settle into our new home.

It felt particularly special that we could spend our first birthday on John Finnie Street today hosting our Macmillan Coffee Morning — bringing people together for a cuppa, some cake and, most importantly, a fantastic cause. 💚☕🍰

When you run a small independent business, every person who walks through the door matters. Every purchase, recommendation, Facebook share, kind review and even a simple “hello” makes a difference.

So this isn’t really a post about us.

It’s a massive THANK YOU to Kilmarnock. ❤️
