WHAT A WEEKEND

I was thrilled to be invited back to take part in the Floral Fundamentals Winter Photoshoot alongside team a of world-class floral designers.

We also spent time touring greenhouses, meeting passionate growers, and discovering the craftsmanship that goes into producing top-quality flowers.

That’s the magic of Floral Fundamentals, they bridge the gap between growers and florists, championing transparency, top-tier quality, and creative collaboration.

So grateful for the experience, the friendships, and inspiration, always learning and delighted to be able to bring my knowledge back to Kilmarnock.

I’ll be sharing some of the designs I created over the next few weeks

Bridal designs don't always have to follow a traditional silhouette. For this piece, my aim was to play with sculptural form, contrast and movement.

I created a round central base wrapped tightly in natural twine to anchor the design and introduce an earthy, woven texture then made a grapevine wire frame offset to one side, creating an asymmetrical sweep and an organic cascade.

The flowers chosen were rich cognac Cymbidium orchids from Bac Orchids their structural blooms and rich warm, tones captured late autumn perfectly Feathery, deep burgundy asparagus fern combined with dried grasses to balance the heavy floral heads with delicate transparency adding deep red Astrantia throughout to catch the light and guide the eye along the curve
