Ready to spin wool available to buy too. Hand Spinning studio based in West Norfolk offering Hand Spinning workshops for all levels plus fleece and fibre supplies. Monthly social spinning get together and an online community of spinners too.

Welcome back to your Sunday Spinspiration. Where did that week go? I hope that you found time to spend at your wheel or twirling your spindle.

Today I have a simple question for you all about your autumnal yarns.

If you could spin the feeling of autumn into a skein of yarn, what would it be like?

Would it be soft and squishy, rustic and textured, or fine and delicate? Perhaps the colours of golden leaves, rusty reds and rich woodland browns would inspire you.

Describe your perfect autumn yarn in just THREE words.

Mine would be: rustic, cosy, golden

Welcome back to your Sunday Spinspiration.
Our theme today is How Much Twist Is Enough?

Too much twist? Too little? Or have you ever wondered how much twist your yarn actually needs?

This week, I’m taking a closer look at one of the most important elements of hand spinning — twist! It has a huge impact on how our yarn behaves, feels and performs, but finding the right balance can sometimes feel like a bit of a mystery.

I’ve made a short and very simple video to help unravel some of those questions!

And, as always, I’d love to hear from you. How do you decide when your yarn has enough twist? Do you go by feel, experience, or a little bit of trial and error?
