I have been very quiet lately while I plan my spring and summer yarn colours.

Meantime, the wonderful Gabriele from Hackland Wool Shed held a fantastic wool felting class for a small group of friends and myself and we had a brilliant time.

If you see one of Gabriele’s classes advertised, I highly recommend booking yourself a place. I can’t quite believe we produced these fabulous vessels in our first class.

❄️ We still have lots of snow here in Orkney and it looks beautiful ❄️

The wind has calmed down significantly and this evening was beautiful and calm. The snow fell vertically, instead of the horizontal snow of the past few days 🤣

A couple of photos from tonight’s dog walk with chief of staff ‘Queenie the rescue greyhound’ who was camera shy.

❄️ It’s bitterly cold here in Orkney. One of the staff (aka Queenie the rescue greyhound) decided she would brave it for a p*e - the wind is biting and there is ice under the snow making driving and walking treacherous. We are staying home where it is safe and warm. Take care to anyone that braves this weather as part of their job ❄️

Today I choose knitting, as I have guests that are stuck in Orkney as yesterday and today’s flights and ferries were and are cancelled. The dye pans will be out again soon.

Many of you have asked if you can knit a hat with one hank of my chunky yarn - the answer is YES

💖 The pictures are of Sugar Plum Fairy knitted into a beany hat 💖

This pattern uses less than 100g of my chunky yarn. I had 25 grams left - so if you wish you could make a Pom Pom.

🎄Important update! 🎄

Apologies for the ‘silence’ however I have the dreaded flu/bug and have been, and still am, out of action.

I’m just popping in to thank you all for your wonderful support, likes, loves, shares, purchases, lovely comments and community love this past year. All your interactions mean so much to me and my little business.

🎄🎄Whilst my ‘helpers’ are still posting out your orders I am aware the post and delivery services appear to be grindingly slow, no fault of anyone, they are just so busy. Our ferry services are announcing disruptions for the next week or so, therefore I am no longer promising delivery before Christmas, to avoid any disappointments 🎄🎄

❤️🧡💛🤍🩶🖤 What does ‘Puffin’ look like knitted up? Thank you for the question 🖤🩶🤍💛🧡❤️

Knitted in 4ply Puffin, in the round with 60 stitches, gives a gorgeous offset, stripe. I’ve used a plain Coopknits Sock Yeah yarn for the heel - both available on my website.

I’m beginning to think this puffin may be a tiger in disguise 🥸. I was going to count the stitches in each colour but the stitch count is variable between hanks and on this hank too, hopefully the pictures give you an idea 😁
