Success! I’ve been having problems with my botanical printing as all the prints were very yellow…nice enough but nothing like the ones I had last year. Today, I topped up the iron water, used baking parchment to separate my layers and used cartridge paper instead of loads of others trialled! I’ve no idea which thing made the difference but I have a winning formula!

An evening of Gelli plate printing followed by eco printing while the leaves are still green! Trialling different paper tonight as I’ve been getting really yellow prints on the paper but nice purples on the silk scarves 🤨 Now to wait 2 hours while they steam!

I’ve made the bold decision to give up my ‘day job’ and focus more on my art! It’s a bit scary but exciting too. I’m working away for an upcoming exhibition here on the Isle of Raasay and will be posting more on here of my new chapter!

The season is beginning to get busy in our wee cabin Sound of Raasay.
At home we’ve got some Scots Dumpy chicks hatched recently and more in the incubator. Thankfully they survived the power cut…although we did have to dry them off and warm them up in front of the stove!
Here are a few bits I’ve done recently and, of course, the chicks! 🐣
