I’m not usually one to rant, but this has happened to The Blue Barn Candle Company twice in one week now and I am fed up. Please, please, PLEASE, if you are going to use AI (Chat GPT, Claude, Grok, whichever) to create your social media posts (what happened to creativity?) will you please check its accuracy. It is NOT perfect. Twice in the past week, very well-intentioned businesses, supporting local artisan events or products , have included my logo or my products in posts they have created and they are inaccurate or even non-existent.
That is NOT how my logo looks. I spent hours creating that logo; it is now recognized, even from a distance at markets and in stores. Please use the correct one!! And those wax melts? I don’t even make those fragrances! It’s a picture of my pick n mix wax melt boxes, but AI took it upon itself to create fragrances I have never, ever made. This is not a post against the people who created the posts. They were doing their best to help and the wax melts photo has now been kindly removed at my request. But whether we like it or not, Artificial Intelligence is a tool, not an all-seeing, all-knowing oracle and its needs checking/correction/guidance. I’m not a Luddite, I know AI is here to stay and can be super useful in so many areas of life, but please don’t just hit that send button and use what it creates for your posts without making sure what it has created is actually correct!!! And most of all, don’t let it make things up!!
Anyway, rant over. Have a lovely week everyone!
