Day 4 of is Throwback Thursday.

This was me sneaking a pic of the mini-shop set up last year. It’s changed a few times since then, and this side of the cafe space has had a bit of a facelift, but I remember being so happy with how it all looked at the time, and nervous about how it was going to go!

A big thanks to Josh and his amazing team for supporting Northern Delights. They are super into collaborating with and lifting up other local businesses, and it’s great to be a little part of the Holm experience and community.

Shout out to Holm’s lovely Mia, who helped me massively when I was setting up, and who runs the regular pop-up markets too.

Also I have an excuse to go there more often and it would frankly be a bit rude not to have their amazing coffees and delicious cake while I’m there….

Day 3 of

Shop Tour! No walk through as i’m not at work today (and didn’t pre-plan!) but will share some old videos on my stories.

So instead lots of photos. We have stuffed every inch of the shop full of lovely things, so it’s a bit more chaotic(ly good!) than some of these photos show. At the moment we also have a lot more vintage and Antiques in the Scotforth shop, as our mini shop at Holm is showcasing a collection of our favourite new brands. But we do have a range of cards, gifts and toys plus some homeware items and lots of jewellery, keyrings, pins and patches. And I’ve got a nice big order of new pocket money toys, novelties and accessories arriving soon.

We always have a least one snoopy item, plenty of The Beatles and gifts for music lovers, and we always, ALWAYS have stickers on a roll!

Nearly forgot day 1 of !

MY SHOP FRONT

We took over the ground floor shop of the family run sound & lighting hire (called Northern Lights) in October 2022, and so there was only one name for our Gift & Vintage shop!

We decided to keep the original Northern Lights signage (as the business is still up and running upstairs) but added our Northern Delights sign to the window. As we also wanted traditional sign writing for the top window panes we asked the supremely talented and they did a wonderful job.

Northern Delights was born out of my love for colourful, unique and fun vintage, antiques and gifts. I’ll save the rest of why I set up the shop tomorrow, but once we knew we’d be based at 89 Scotforth Road, we knew we also had to have an online presence- an Etsy for our Antiques & Vintage (live now and full of lots of lovely things!) and an online gift shop (which will be relaunched later this year)

At the moment the shop is only open on Tuesdays and Fridays (more on that tomorrow too!) but last year the lovely asked if we wanted to set up a mini shop in their cafe so you can buy our colourful gifts Tuesdays - Sundays on at 22 Kings Street too 🥳

Our shop front may not be the most glamorous one going, but we love it!

Easter Sunday! Pop-up market today at Holm. 10-4. We’ll be bringing all our jewellery and there will be some fantastic stalls. Come pick up a coffee and say hi 👋🏻
