So, I managed to make some progress on this experimental table top today, before having to break off for another desk due out this evening. I managed to get one side flattened and a few passes with some rougher sand papers. What a difference already, so satisfying 😍 can’t wait to see how this turns out. Still undecided on what finish to use yet. What would you like to see used on it?

What a mess, huh? A little experiment with some off cuts. I knew there was a reason for saving these ‘useless’ leftovers of wood. Only time will tell what the outcome will be. Luckily we only have to wait ‘til tomorrow to have an idea. One thing’s for sure, it’s got to look better than it does now 🤦‍♂️. What should it be used for once it’s finished though? 🤔

RustiChunk has officially made its maiden voyage across the globe. Well, through the cables and satellite signals of the internet highway at least. Specifically, to Japan. Massive thanks to www.zouka.com for including pictures of our black ebony corner desk on their website. It’s exciting to imagine people from a country thousands of miles away will get to view, and hopefully enjoy, the results of my hard work. I was aiming to just get further than West Yorkshire, so I’ll happily take this for starters. Wherever next? 🤔

Really enjoyed this project. Was a bit different due to the scaffold style legs / frame, these can be applied to any of my tables and desks. Strengthened extensively with a LOT of inlaid angle steel on the underside. It’s also the first job I’ve done with no stain on the wood, finished with extra tough varnish. This could be one of my favourite looks now. Most importantly, I’m very glad that Rebecca at Bugweed's Fabrics & Crafts Ltd is happy with her new work tables. I wish my workplace was as bright and colourful as this place, very jealous.

Bespoke Rustic Industrial Radiator Shelf with Hairpin Legs from £65

Made from sustainably sourced timber. Various stain colours available. Other leg colours also available for £10 extra. Finish in photos is waxed, however, can provide a satin oiled and varnish finish also. Brackets, plasterboard wall plugs and screws provided for securing to wall if necessary.

Price quoted is for up to 100cm length, with 71cm high clearance (74cm high in total) depth up to 18cm. Please message for a quote on anything larger or higher.
