We've been quiet on here recently, and we've been quiet saleswise too. Part of that's been that I'm not on Facebook much so miss out on event announcements and part of that is that we've just not sold much at the 3 events we have done since April.
We were never in this for the money really but in our first year we cleared Β£2,900 between us and last year it was Β£600. This only factors in material costs, not the time taken to craft each turtle, or the time spent at stalls and finding places to sell.
So, not in it for the money but we loved that the Turtles made people smile even if they didn't buy and we loved, loved, loved it when we met people who really, really liked them. It's always lovely to have positive feedback and enthusiastic chats. So we kept on going when it was tough to do so but it feels like it may be time to call it a day.
However, we've still got quite a lot of stock and I have NO IDEA what to do with them all. As I said, it's hard to get in on events before they're booked up but much as we really love Turtles we don't need the number we currently have. We've also got a lot of unused polymer clay so will have to work out what to do with that.
It feels sad to come to this conclusion, but the Turtles have just become something that takes up a lot of space in our fairly small living space, something that rather than bringing my happiness makes me feel like I should be doing something about rehoming them.
