The more visible a small business becomes online, the more comments seem to come with it.

Most are lovely but there’s a certain type of person who finds it impossible to simply scroll past something they don’t like without making an unsolicited comment.

I’m not talking about their opinion on any jewellery I post- they are welcome to that. But remarks about my nails, hands or anything personal is not ok.

These may be small insults but it makes me think twice about opening the comments as I don’t want it to negatively impact my day.

For small businesses, social media isn’t about trying to be famous. It’s part of the job now. It helps people find us, ask questions, see new pieces and support independent shops.

But visibility should not mean people feel entitled to pick apart the person behind the post.

There’s always the option of scrolling past if you don’t like something.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, you guys far outweigh the occasional unnecessary remarks and we appreciate you more than you know 💖💖
