Utility Room reveal...
This is a completely new room, previously this was where the back of our old garage was before we knocked it down and extended the house last year.
It's been 80% done for quite a while and we still want to add some bits now but essentially it's done and fully functioning and such a useful big space.
Utility room | Red cabinetry | Brass hardware | Chequerboard floor | Warm interiors | Practical living | Butler sink | Fluted sink | Shaker cupboards | Pink interiors
The run of units and drawers are so handy for extra storage. I wanted it to have its own identity so went for a completely different colour to the kitchen. But the style and finish are very similar keeping the flow.
I wanted a big single sink, perfect for soaking those muddy football shirts and doing everything we don't want to do in the kitchen. And because we didn't go fluted in the kitchen, I decided the extra detail in here would work nicely
I wanted two pillar taps, it shouts utility room to me but the unlaquered brass matches the mixer tap we have in the kitchen.
It all started with the floor and the rest followed from there. The wooden floor just didn't seem practical to run into here as well as it's a much harder working space but I fell in love with these chequerboard tiles. I had them sitting for months and months waiting to be laid but gosh am I happy with them now!
Plenty of worktop space with baskets for all the socks! And a view of the garden with lots of plants on the windowsill
Pretty corners with antique brass hardware, a close up of the quartz and some greenery.
I'll put something else together with all the details, colours, finishes, flooring, accessories, cupboards etc that we chose and how we saved money along the way.
