Hi, I’m Mick, and loving making scented candles and wax melts: all the fragrances are just filling my workshop with a great scent (used to be called the kitchen)
I think that other people, like yourself, would enjoy candle making too.
So I have created a page for beginners, like myself, to share info, solve problems and show off our products, and maybe even sell them - all in one place.
I admit I haven’t been doing this long, but I have made, and sold some great products and had so much fun in the process.
I am also now selling starter kits so you can try it for yourself. Each starter kit comes with a set of comprehensive, step-by-step, and easy to use instructions.
But you don’t have to buy a starter kit to decide whether candle-making is for you: The Candle & Wax Melts for Beginners is a FREE eBook that contains all the information and instructions you need to see if this is going to work for you.

How to make 6 x large wax melts
Personally, I use a halogen oven for melting small amounts of soy wax up to 150 grams and find this a lot easier, cleaner to use. I also reuse old small microwaveable pots to hold the wax to melt, very handy, and no cost. This method will make small orders of wax melts with little effort.
Please note halogen oven is used only for melting wax, it is not advisable to use for food even after cleaning.
To make 6 wax melts using the silicone mould as in kit 1, place 50 grams of soy wax flakes and 1g wax colourant (if required) in a microwave pot, set the temperature of 1250c for 20minutes or until the wax has melted, allow to cool to around 85°C then mix 4ml fragrance for 1-2 minutes I then pour the mixture into a preheated silicone mould leave to set around 30 minutes before removing from the mould. This method has served me well and produced shiny high scented wax melts.
