This afternoon was all about dressing! With handmade bespoke curtains a lot goes in to preparing them before delivering them to their forever homes.
This is a curtain half way through the process, no shape and lots of untidy layers of fabric! Once hung, they need to be ‘trained’ by hand in to the folds, tied with strips of fabric and left for up to a week. This will help them to naturally fold each time they are opened and closed.
The space in the workroom where I have curtain poles, has become such an important part of this process. The job is done before they are even delivered.
Big work win in my opinion.

All in a week… it’s been busy! We have fitted 4 x Roman Blinds and 4 x Pairs of Curtains and 1 Single Curtain (some of which were huge!)
The culmination of quite a few weeks of work.
It’s Friday and I am looking forward to spending the weekend taking a breath, a drink and some time out.

A new start next week with lots of exciting projects in the pipeline.

Another huge curtain to make - but boy, this pattern will definitely make a stunning one.

Sometimes it’s the little things… I tidied up last Friday for a long weekend away - back to work on Tuesday and I knew exactly where to find the ruler!

All up and looking lovely. It’s amazing what a difference soft furnishings make to a space.
Love these chunky poles with brass brackets , and in a small cottage it seemed simpler to use the same on every window.

Lots of Roman Blinds in the first 3 months of this year… lots of fabric variations, from wool through to a thin Indian cotton. They are great for softening the look of a window/room without taking up too much space.
