Freight Shop Ltd.

Freight Shop Ltd. Freight HHG is a brand that looks to provide customers with products which represent our core values Freight Shop Ltd.

is a brand that endeavours to provide customers with products which represent our five core values of Provenance, quality, durability, functionality and exploration. Looking to source items that can be produced and designed within the Uk, not outsourcing our production needs to other countries when there are fantastic opportunities available to collaborate with crafts people on our doorstep. Our i

deas are influenced by the places which we have visited and that have left a significant impression on us. The materials and designs are considered and carefully sourced to ensure we are manufacturing items which are going to last well and wear even better. Our hope would be for a Freight household item to be used repeatedly with no reason to consider an alternative.

To try and brighten up the wettest and greyest of days here in Sussex. Some golden confit pots and a beautiful giant creamer bowl. Sitting in the shop window radiating sunshine and warmth. Along with this incredible bunch of flowers which include a new addition for us called Sicilian wild honey garlic. We noticed it being delivered to the wine bar opposite for their arrangements, so we accosted Caroline the fabulous florist to ask what it was. She kindly not only delivered some stems to us but also delivered a batch of bulbs to plant at home. Now that’s going the extra mile. So kind and something we will now cherish each year when they appear, all being well with planting! For now they can be enjoyed in the shop alongside our brand statement and some summer ready grain sack cushions. The fire wood you will notice has not yet been put away and not we know why … it may just be the day for some extra warmth.

The first of our Reels about some of the most loved Freight HHG products in our permanent collection. Starting with the Brass and Nickel pepper mills. You may have spotted these at some of our favourite wholesale customer locations and . A hardwearing, lifelong, solid-cast mill that makes the perfect gift.

A little video to show the different styles of mugs and cups that have been a part of the Freight Pottery collection since we launched back in 2014.

These were some of the first pieces we designed to have made in Stoke On Trent by our potter who we still work with to this day.

Produced in two different materials including bone china and stoneware. A mixture of glazed and unglazed finish sets them apart from one another. Contrasting beautifully as a collection.

Three beautifully soft lambswool blankets designed by Freight and manufactured in a traditional vertical mill in Lancashire. These blankets have been run through a teasel machine to raise the yarn, giving them a lovely soft, brushed effect. Perfect for wrapping around your shoulders when the evening chill comes, or throwing down on the grass for an impromptu picnic.

We’ve been stocking the excellent jeans since earlier this year, so felt it was time to shed a bit more light on what they’re all about and why we think they’re the best jeans ever. Here’s their co-founder Kelly explaining all.

With selvedge denim woven in Japan on traditional looms, the jeans are carefully finished by hand by founders Kelly and Scott in their Brighton workshop. The quality, the provenance, the look, weight and feel of these jeans are all above and beyond the usual, and it’s immediately apparent when you put them on. Dawson Denim is about clothing that not only lasts but gets better with age. An ethos that resonates with our own.

Since each pair is hemmed to your bespoke preference (a free service upon purchase), these jeans need to be tried on ‘in real life’, so head down to Freight to try some on for size. Our team are happy to help and advise.

Here it is the last day of the longest (not literally but let’s be honest it feels it) month. One that I think many of us can agree we will be glad to wave goodbye to and welcome in the next. January for us is all about planning for the year ahead. Here our toiles hang in the window where they have been much discussed, tried on, tweaked and re tweaked. We don’t put garments into production lightly. We have to be certain we are happy. Down to every last detail. Pockets, darts, seams, hems, cuffs, button spacing, linings, collars, stitching, sleeve etc. Everything has to go through the interrogation process. We are lucky enough to be able to do all of this process now in house. With our amazing team we can run up patterns and then toiles and even final samples. So slowly but surely this collection is going to grow. Fabric swatches have been arriving from Uk manufacturers as well as from Japan. Carefully selected for their key qualities and provenance. Watch this space spring garments to be incoming. But not before they are just right.

Crunch time. Last few days to order online in time for Christmas - we’ll be taking orders for the UK up to and including the 18th. Feeling very festive in the shop now with towering stacks of parcels packed with food, alpaca socks, candles and hampers tied up with red twine. Bring on those yet to come! After Christmas Eve we’ll be collapsing in a heap and taking a few days to rest, relax and enjoy time with family and friends. Reopening on Friday 2nd January ready for whatever the new year brings.

The panic has set in. It’s the penultimate weekend before Christmas and you havnt even thought about what to get for aunty Nora let alone your Wife. Well we may well have you covered at Freight. Everyone claims to have the perfect gift, the answer to all your shopping woes. We won’t go that far but we can claim to have put some thought and time into our gift boxes. There hopefully is something for everyone. We will be honest nearly all of them involve a type of sock. But when the socks are as good as the ones we sell can you blame us. There’s food hampers, Pampering fancies and everything In-between. We have put time in to making up choices that we hope will lift some of the Xmas shopping pressure. As you would expect they come in brown card boxes and are tied up with red twine. Simple but suggestive of something that has been considered. Only ever practical and hopefully well received.

Primed and ready for the final few weeks to Christmas. It’s been a great week with signage addition, late night shopping and a throng of customers - either shopping or avoiding this horrendous ongoing British weather. If you don’t feel like leaving the warmth of your home, bed, car or hammock we can always post to you. But if you do feel like braving the elements and coming to visit us in store then we are here for you. All smiles and tangerines 🍊

Those of you that know us will know that we take our socks very seriously. We have been having these socks made for us in England now for over ten years in fact even longer as we originally commissioned them for our pop up shop back in 2012. So for some time now we have been purveyors of top quality alpaca socks. These are not sub standard. They are high in natural yarn available in a number of undyed shades as well as dyed and keep your toes toasty. We ensure that they are produced using the highest possible percentage of alpaca to allow the feet to breath and offer the best quality possible. There are other alpaca socks out there on the market yes and some are selling for less but the catch is when you check the label they have a much lower alpaca yarn content and a much higher nylon content. This makes for an inferior sock which will not last nearly as long. Our range offers cushion soles, everyday and bed socks. There’s something for everyone. Popular with our customers around the world. We will stick to our sock morals and continue to provide the best. No one can be upset with a pair of these for Christmas. Socks such a cliche gift so may as well make them damn good we say.
