Work is commencing! So we may be a little quiet on the ol' social media whilst we're busy! But rest assured, unless stated otherwise on here, we are still open to serve your plantaholic needs!
So pay a visit to The Plant Plot and take a look at whats available, if not with us, then with the plethora of other businesses that they have on site with The Plant Plot Garden Village!
Here for your viewing pleasure, is a Begonia burkillii "Silver Edge" a fantastic Begonia from India that is capable of being grown just as a houseplant but thrives in a higher humidity environment!

We'll be making some changes over the next few weeks, so if you come in and the shop looks empty, then take a look in the shed next door and we may be in there doing some work! So just give us a kick and we'll come help you out :)
So here's a view of the shop as it stands at The Plant Plot and we'll do the grand reveal when everything's done!

Here we have a variegated Saxifraga stolonifera, a great little houseplant that originates from China, Japan and Korea. Mainly known as a Strawberry Begonia, which annoys a lot of Begonia enthusiasts, as its not actually a Begonia.
It's a member of the rockfoil group, which is a pretty widespread group of plants that's usually more associated with garden succulents.
Whilst most Saxifraga are grown for their impressive show of flowers, these are definitely more of a foliage show plant as the flowers can be quite small and underwhelming, but with that array of colours, we can certainly forgive that ;)
Why not take a trip to The Plant Plot and see what other natural wonders are here!

For all you Star Wars fanatics out there, The Plant Plot will be hosting a day of photo fun with the UK Garrison of Storm Troopers, in aide of The Staffordshire Blood Bikers.
So on Sunday 14th July, come and meet Storm Troopers, Jawas and a certain Sith Lord ;)
Hope to see some fellow Star Wars nerds!

Another plant that looks like it belongs in a sci fi movie!
This is Triolena involucrata, sometimes simply called Triolena "Red". Its an Ecuadorian plant, so thrives in high humidity and with the strong textures to the leaves and the red hairs, it definitely looks like something James Cameron would include on a trip to Pandora ;)
Once it's established, it'll produce delicate looking little flowers that easily go to seed and can produce hundreds of tiny babies!
Definitely one to look out for whilst perusing The Plant Plot!

It's a nice cool day today! But not as cool as a plant that eats bugs! Ideal for the current weather, with windows open to allow the cool air in (when there is cool air), in come the flies. So carnivorous plants could be an ideal and interesting way to deal with those pests!
This large Nepenthes hybrid likes to kept warm and humid and will tolerate bright indirect light!
So pop in to The Plant Plot and take a look at this alien up close!

It's a wonderful day today, not too hot and not too bright! But it's not as wonderful as this amazing little Gesneriad! This is Sinningia muscicola! It makes an awesome addition to any terrarium or could be a great focal point for a miniature terrarium! It flowers readily and also self seeds, so you can end up with a nice little mass of it!
So pop into The Plant Plot and see it with your own eyes to truly appreciate the beauty!

It's Fri-yay! And it's a glorious one at that! Ideal day to come have a mooch around The Plant Plot and see what's on offer for you!
We'll be making some changes to the shop over the coming weeks, something to improve the overall experience for all of you avid terrarium and plant enthusiasts!
We're hoping the change will be as good as the leaf change on this Labisia sp. "Green" as it unfurls and matures! Gotta love that drastic colour difference 😍
