📦 How many fabric storage boxes can you fit in one photograph? How many fabric boxes does Dagmar need in her life? 😂

These fabulous fabric storage boxes are the project we'll be making tomorrow (Saturday 6th June, 2-5pm) at The Fabric Vault.

Perfect for sewing supplies, knitting projects, craft materials, toiletries, toys, or simply organising those bits and pieces that never seem to have a proper home!

During this 3-hour lesson you'll learn how to create a sturdy, structured fabric box using stabilisers, accurate construction techniques, and binding for a neat professional finish.

✨ Finished size approximately 10" x 10" x 7" high

✨ Use one of our sewing machines or bring your own if you prefer

Perfect if your sewing machine has been sitting in a cupboard, you've recently bought one, or you'd simply like to understand it better. We'll cover threading, winding a bobbin, tension, stitches, and all those mysterious bits and pieces that often leave people scratching their heads.

✨ Get to Know Your Sewing Machine 2 – Handling Fabrics
Ready to move beyond the basics? Learn how to guide fabric smoothly, improve accuracy, sew curves and corners with confidence, and feel more in control at the machine.

Tapestries - not just for furniture!!! 🪑

These are just 2 of our amazing tapestry fabrics.
Great geometric designs with stunning colours

58” wide

Obviously great for covering chairs, cushions etc

But, great for bags and also thinking outside the box, skirts, dresses, waistcoats etc

Can you imagine a project using these?

🏡✨ Looking for a new patchwork project to get stuck into this summer? Our Dresden Neighbourhood course with Kim starts tomorrow evening at The Fabric Vault! ✨🏡

Over four Tuesday evening sessions (6:30pm–8:30pm), you'll create your own beautiful Dresden Neighbourhood design, learning patchwork, applique, and quilting techniques along the way in a friendly and supportive environment.

One of the things our students love most about our lessons is that we keep class sizes small, ensuring everyone has plenty of support, guidance, and encouragement throughout their project. 💕

Whether you're looking to develop your patchwork skills, learn something new, or simply enjoy a few hours of creative sewing each week, we'd love to welcome you.

From 4 June – 5 July, the beautiful Common Threads table runner, created in partnership with The Fabric Vault returns to the Cathedral.

This 13-metre community artwork brings together hundreds of textile squares, each one telling its own personal story.

Come and explore it during visitor opening hours.
