Do you have a child who loves making, creating and trying new things? 🧵
We have just two spaces left in our new Elective Home Education Children’s Sewing Course starting in October, and before the course begins, we thought we’d give children the chance to come in, meet us and have a go.
So on Tuesday 29th September, 9am–10:30am, we’re holding a FREE sewing trial session at The Fabric Vault in Lichfield.
No sewing experience is needed at all. We’ll start right at the beginning, get to know the sewing machine and, most importantly, actually make something! It’s a chance for children to see what sewing with us is like and for parents to decide whether our longer sewing programme might be right for them.
Our EHE Sewing Course isn’t just a collection of craft sessions. We’ve planned a full 20-session sewing journey, starting with the basics and gradually progressing through bags, seasonal projects, pyjama bottoms, skirts, dressmaking, zips, gathering, binding, buttonholes, upcycling and lots more.
Each child builds their own Sewing Portfolio along the way, and as their skills and confidence grow, we gradually encourage them to make more decisions, solve problems and work independently.
The groups are deliberately tiny — a maximum of four children — so there is plenty of individual help, encouragement and time to learn properly, while still enjoying sewing alongside other children.
We currently have two spaces remaining in our first EHE group, and we’re also taking names for a second group if there is enough interest.
The free trial is suitable for children aged 10+, including complete beginners.
If your child would like to come along on Tuesday 29th September, just message us to book their free place. Places are limited because we want to keep this session small too.
