Every morning, the crows in North Hykeham, Lincoln, fly from their overnight roosting trees to a cluster of large oaks at the Rustons Sports Club. From there, they divide into smaller groups, one of which gathers in the oak tree located on Newark Road. They remain there until the light improves before flying off for the day, only to return to the same tree at dusk to rejoin the larger flock before heading to their nocturnal resting place. It is somewhat reminiscent of Mr. King's book, The Birds.

I seldom read or consult newspapers, as I often find the content to be poorly written, inadequately researched, and lacking a balanced perspective. Nevertheless, the story featured in today's Daily Mail is both embarrassing and alarming. It represents a concerning trend that could potentially spread throughout the museum sector, potentially leading to a situation where exhibits are no longer displayed due to a lack of consent from the original creators or owners.

I had also assumed that we were better educated these days, but it appears that may not be the case.

A second newspaper, dated 24 January 1824 from The Norfolk Chronicle, was discovered inside the late Georgian oak and mahogany chest of drawers with elm drawer sides. The final photograph is likely the most effective advertisement of the entire collection. It is excellent and funny too.

This historical piece features an oak chest of drawers with mahogany crossbanding, yet the interior is perhaps more intriguing, as it contains advertisements for two cabinet and upholstery workshops dated August 1826. It is probable that these were placed no more than five to ten years after the chest was crafted.

After a late night of work finishing some dining chairs for tomorrow's collection, it was time to photograph some pieces from our collection of miniature pieces; the newest one, which is just lovely, is the Georgian corner cabinet, which will soon go on the wall. The little dumbwaiter is modern but correctly made with rotating tables.
Lastly the candlestick stand now fully restored.

I was sent this last night, which featured Mr. Dominic Cummings in the Constitution Committee. Firstly and historically, another piece of lost Tudor design is seen in the back ground, and for those who do not know, it is not the portcullis, which could be connected to Margaret Beaufort, King Henry VII's mother. However, my other reason for posting this connection to the government website is what Mr. Cummings says, and boy, it is very powerful and I highly recommend watching, whichever political party you favor.

An infill job is this metamorphic chair steps by James Shoolbred & Co., circa 1880. The client was told this chair was oak and had been overpainted to look like red mahogany. After a little test area in front of the client, I was pleased to tell them that it is made of mahogany. They decided to have the paint removed and, to my surprise, Mrs. G found gilt on all the applied pyramid decoration. These are going to look fantastic when finished.
