To be honest, most of being a wedding florist is designing weird foam free mechanics and doing site visits to bring your untamed, whimsical wedding flower wonderlands to life.

The actual 'playing with flowers' comes much later in the design process sadly.

The wildflowers blended seamlessly in with the surrounding meadows and we even incorporated some beer bottles from as bud vase arrangements

A recent statement arch installation at just outside Kendal.

The brief was natural, of the land, and reflective of the surrounding gardens. Frothy cow parsely and delicate buttercups added a bit of colour amidst the verdant greenery.

Imagine having this at your wedding ceremony - feeling like a little fairy emerging from a magical woodland hiding place 🧚‍♀️

Hands up who wants it?!

Wedding bouquets don't always have to be OTT - although I do love it when they are ....

I went with the goal of loosening up my bouquets, letting each flower speak for itself and pulling back slightly on my maximalist tendancies while still creating something that felt Moorland Blooms coded .

I recently booked myself on to do some good ol' CPD with in The Lake District.

Alistair and I stayed in a tiny caravan near with our trusty sidekick Sooty. It was BBQs and the local pub followed by 9pm bedtime every night - actual bliss 🤩

I spent 3 days immersed in locally grown spring flowers, learning about sustainable techniques and collaborating with other incredible florists to produce some larger scale floral installations including a HUGE natural arch and an enchanting flower cloud of aliums 💜

Safe to say I came away feeling inspired, armed with new techniques and ready to face the coming wedding season 🫶

As a wedding florist I draw inspiration for my floral designs from so many places. You'd be suprised what ends up on my mood boards - bits of shredded tapestries, antique lace and medieval marginalia to name a few.

Although I do love to dabble in the trends - wired bouquets, minimalist colour palettes & scuptural florals - I will always be a whimsical, maximalist girl at heart 🩷
