Before she goes I drew another portrait of my beloved Lola. She’s doing well although coughing more & breathing more heavily too.

I commissioned a fabulous felted sculpture of her which I intend to place on her urn when she goes. It is truly amazing & made by a wonderfully talented lady Fricked Felts

This beautiful girl is Madge - a rescue who brought joy & love into her owner’s home for too short a time before she passed.

I’ve also collected lots of printing so will be posting items this week. 👍

Unfortunately, I’ve had the worst news about my Lola this afternoon. Her cancer is spreading very rapidly. She’s fought so long & so hard, but it’s ravaging her.

In my endeavour to develop as an ’artist’ I’ve tried something very different! I normally use a program called Procreate, but I’ve tried one called Clip Studio Paint. It’s more like real painting in its effect. It is a lot more expensive though so I’ll need to decide whether to take the plunge once my free trial has ended. I have tried doing a portrait using it, but it was a bit pants so it would be for other types of art. I can’t share the reference photo as it’s not mine. Let me know your thoughts (good & bad). 👍

This isn’t actually my first picture of 2023, I’m just waiting on permission to share my actual one of a lovely lady (& her tongue!)

This is another chicken taken by the same person & shared on the usual FB page I use for my non portrait drawings. There is a potential trilogy of chickens with this lady, the other one I did & the very handsome cockerel. I could entitle it ”The Cockerel & his Harem” 🤭 I have no idea why as I’m not the biggest bird fan but I really enjoy drawing chickens!

Final one from me for 2023. Another photo I found from the great FB page full of reference photos. I’m not a farm buff but I’m drawn (🤭) to the photos this person takes on their farm. I have lots more chickens to do & a cockerel along with sheep & pigs! I might start a farm collection & create a album for my farm drawings.
