By the age of 6, I was knitting, doing tapestry and cross-stitching and enjoyed doing them as a leisure. In 2011, I discovered a lady who was doing beautiful pieces with crochet and showed me that it was not a "granny sport" but in fact a craft very much in touch with contemporary fashion. You will see magnificent crochetted pieces in many Grand Designers shows: Dior, Chanel, YSL to name but a few
...
So I learned the basics that summer and never looked back since. I have been "hooked" ever since and it is now my passion. From making cardigans, to making handbags or pet’s blankets, my experiments with my hooks together with countless yarns bring me great pleasure and I now turn this passion into a useful little business. I enjoy doing the most simple pieces just as much as the luxurious ones. As well as my passion for crochet I also fell in love with the Pay-It-Forward concept which I discovered by accident on a Canadian knitting website where volunteers had left hanging from trees scarves and hats for the less fortunate and the homeless to help themselves at the start of the winter. It really stroke a cord with me as I was very close to being homeless myself once, it can happen to anyone at any time. So ever since the start of 2015, I have been using the same principal where I live and plan to make it a babe Crochet co (then called Babay Fay) a yearly commitment as UK has seen its number of homeless people double since 2012. I have set myself other Pay-It-Forward projects and intend to support other causes. So with this in mind for 2016, babé Crochet co will be donating little hats for premature babies to the Sussex Neonatal Care -Trevor Mann Baby Unit. http://www.trevormannbabyunit.co.uk/
