🦛 MOO DENG CROSS STITCH 🧵

Did I disappear for 10 months because I was creatively burnt out? Yes

Did Moo Deng reinspire me and become my reason for living? Also yes.

I hadn't attempted cross stitch since I was a kid and this took me weeks to finish but I love it. We won't look at the back as that's none of our business.

🧶 BABY BLANKET ⭐

My first finished crochet project of 2024 🥰

This is also the first blanket I've ever made and it was a gift for my goddaughter's christening last weekend ❤️

I loved making it and I'm very tempted to make myself a larger one. Pattern is from and it was really easy to follow and adapt. The yarn used is from as part of the WI collection.

🗓️ HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎆

Everyone that owns a cricut has made this now, right? 😃 The design is by and I highly recommend checking out her website!

I made this calendar using the draw function on my Cricut (because my coloured card is too big for my printer) and I matched the colours of my cats to their birthday months 🐈‍⬛ I was particularly happy with how March came out with white pen on black card.

I wasn't sure how to display the calendar and then I remembered I have a huge stash of mini wooden easels left over from our wedding and they are the perfect size!

I may be late posting this year but I've been busy crafting - more crochet coming soon 🥰

☕ CROCHET & COFFEE 🧶

I'm finally crocheting again! It's been so long since I've sat down with my hooks and made something just for fun, rather than for wedding prep!

I also painted this mug! My bridesmaids took me pottery painting and it was so cute ☺️ I painted this mug with leaves, inspired by the pattern on my wedding dress. The inside and the handle matched my wedding colour scheme. I also painted my new initials on the bottom.

It's an oatmilk peppermint mocha for anyone interested 🍫

🐈 🐕 WEDDING PETS 💒

One of my favourite wedding crafts ever! (Haven't I said that about all of them?)

As much as we wanted to, we really couldn't have our cats at our wedding. So I made some cut outs of them to go on the guestbook table. They ended up in Polaroid photos and on the dancefloor and everyone loved them! We also hosted a quiz at our wedding and obviously had a round all about our cats 😹

My best friends got married last weekend and wanted to have their dogs there so we made it happen! Not pictured is us gluing spatula handles onto dog heads in the hotel the night before! They were a massive hit too and ended up in the photo booth 📸

To make them we printed the pets on A3 paper and used spray adhesive to stick them to some foam board and cut them out. Super cheap but effective!

Got to have your pets at your wedding somehow 😍

What a great idea!

If your pooch can’t be at your day how about getting props that you can have them with you through out the day. I’ve never seen this idea before and thought it was so cool.

🎄 WEDDING BAUBLE ❤️

My best friends got married last weekend and it was the most beautiful day!

Before their wedding I cut some vinyl for an empty clear bauble and I kept hold of some of their confetti at the wedding to put inside 🎉

Not pictured: me crawling around the floor picking up more confetti 😄

💒 WEDDING FLOWERS 🌷

As soon as I saw my wedding flowers I knew I wanted to try to preserve them because they were so beautiful. However, I didn't want to spend upwards of £200! So I bought some silica sand and a box frame and gave it a go myself! Lots of hot glue burns later and I'm pretty pleased with how it's turned out.

I've never done any kind of flower preservation before so and I'd love some feedback on how I can make it better! I've since added some strip lights to the inside of the frame but I don't love it so will try again. 🪻

💒 WEDDING SIGNS 🍸🌸

I'm still obsessed with our wedding signs! I had every intention of sanding down the welcome sign and selling it but I can't 🥲 how can I display it at home?

I couldn't find precut signs in the size that I wanted so I made them from scratch! For the welcome sign I used 3 large natural wooden shelves from The Range, glued them together length ways with gorilla wood glue, sanded them and stained them with Dulux wood stain. I did exactly the same for the smaller sign but with 2 medium shelves.

I designed both signs on cricut design space and cut stencils from vinyl. I then used a couple of layers of acrylic paint to fill in the design and added a layer of white glitter to the top of the margarita glass. I added a couple of artificial flowers to the welcome sign with hot glue.

The welcome sign was at the door of our wedding venue, and the margarita sign was next to our outdoor bar! 🧂🍋

I might post some more pictures of the process, but if you're thinking about buying a wedding sign then I'd highly recommend making one, it took a little effort but wasn't too difficult ☺️

👰🏼‍♀️ DIY BRIDE 💜

I've certainly made my money back from my Cricut during wedding planning! Here's a few of the little details I made with it for the wedding 😍 there's plenty more to come!

🌍 The black globe was from IKEA and has been sitting on a shelf in our house since we moved in over 4 years ago because we couldn't decide what to do with it. I cut out our names and wedding date in some silver vinyl foil and stuck it to the globe and we asked all of our guests to sign it with chalk pens! Now it's a beautiful colourful reminder of our favourite people.

📮 The card box I bought from Hobbycraft and painted it with white, mauve, and silver acrylic paint. I cut "cards" out in vinyl foil and used my Cricut to write our names and date on some watercolour print card which I glued to the front. The other gorgeous card box belongs to our florist!

🖌️ The name place cards are little acrylic hexagons with a stripe of mauve acrylic paint on the back and the names are cut from vinyl foil on the front. They are placed on mini wooden easels which I stained with Dulux stain. Most of our guests took their names home with them and I love how they looked on the tables!

🕶️ The classic wedding sunglasses! These were super simple to make with some white vinyl and so much more durable than paint! We took these on our honeymoon to take even more photos with them.

🎂 Our cake topper is a large acrylic hexagon painted with a few layers of mauve paint on the back, and vinyl foil on the front. It was then stuck into our gorgeous 2 tier cheesecake!

🖋️ Lastly is our Polaroid guestbook! This is just a plain white scrapbook from The Works with some vinyl foil on the front. I thought this may look too plain but I love how it came out, and it's even better now that it's full of messages and photographs!

💒 WEDDING DAY 🧶 ✨

I've been so quiet here lately because I've been busy crafting for my wedding!! ☺️ now that it's all over I'll be posting photos for the rest of my life.

Here's our table numbers! I wanted something a bit different, and of course something that I could make myself. I had to sneak in some fibre art where possible and I love how they turned out!

I made the numbers with craft wire and an icord maker and hot glued them onto a wreath base which was wrapped in wire lights and sitting on top of a mini crate which held the battery pack.

We had so many compliments from guests, the venue staff, and photographers which is just the best compliment 🥹 they looked so good in our absolutely beautiful venue.

I've got loads more to share and I can't stop looking at the photos! 💜 Also, if you're getting married you NEED to hire a content creator to capture all of these gorgeous shots while you enjoy the day 🪩
