🧶🪡 We tried abstract embroidery in Craft Club yesterday and it was a learning curve for all of us! But I love the way they could choose which materials to use and how to use them. And how engrossed they all were in their craft. Some of these little crafters could have worked on theirs for much longer, I felt so bad asking them to stop and tidy up! I’ll definitely come back to this craft again.

That’s a wrap on Craft Club for this half term. I’ll see my new little crafters after the half term holiday.

🌷🌼🪻 My classes have been all about flowers this week! 💐

In Story & Craft we read ‘That’s My Flower’ (part of The Leaf Thief book series) by Alice Flemming and Nicola Slater and made bouquets of pipe cleaner flowers and flower crowns!

In after school Craft Club we made our own collage flower pictures. Each crafter covered a whole sheet of paper in brightly coloured patterns, using paint sticks for colour and a wooden skewer to scratch patterns. Then they cut it up into petal and leaf shapes and reassembled it on a new piece of paper as a collage. And added a pipe cleaner and bead handle. So gorgeous 🤩

Look at all these gorgeous crafts my little crafters have been working on over the last couple of weeks 🤩
I love seeing the concentration on their faces as they select, cut and glue their materials. We’ve used a lot of paint sticks, foam sheets and paper sprinkles recently!

🐌 🐳 We celebrated Earth Day in Story & Craft this week by reading one of my all time favourites The Snail & The Whale! Then we made paper plate Earths and decorated them with animals from the story 😍

Next week it’s doughnuts!!! 🍩 🍩🍩🍩🍩

This dandelion lion is such a lovely craft idea from 🦁 My youngest and I made this after school using some of the many many dandelions growing on our front garden 😆 Think I might need to get the mower out this weekend!
