This weekend!!

Janis Gilpin and I will be hosting our Creative Community Table again and we're inviting people to bring their own projects to work on. You can sit down with us, take a break, share your work or perhaps something that you've done at a workshop. Think of us as a little retreat during your day!

Last year we invited people to answer the question "How does being creative make you feel" and we've made a visitors book from everyone's responses. You'll be able to add some embellishments to it on the day if you like.

How would you answer that question now?

Nearly finished! I started this hoop on the summer solstice last year and so yesterday was the last day to stitch!

Today I sat in my parent's beautiful garden and stitched the square to represent the Great North Swim last weekend (because I knew my Mum would have some sparkly blue thread in her stash πŸ’™). Swipe to see my post swim face πŸ˜†.

I can't quite finish because my metallic silver is back in Liverpool and I have some joyfully sedentary days left to stitch. I'll be wrangling that next week...

I was asked to recreate this receipt from 1956 for an engagement ring 🀯. Swipe to see the original receipt and the stitching process. I loved every minute of this commission although I always feel the pressure when stitching something so meaningful!

From the customer - "Just wanted to thank you, so much for this special piece. Absolutely delighted with the detail and quality and the recipient was over the moon; it is on her wall already."

Thank you Andy from for framing it so beautifully!

If you'd like a custom piece like this, check out my .co store for the options, link in bio πŸ˜‰

Might have to play with the layout a little.... πŸ€”πŸ‘

Last night at , we started making some bunting, thinking about what we dream of for our community and then using whatever materials and techniques we fancy.

I freestyled these letters and am pretty pleased with how they turned out πŸ˜…. I started using reverse chain stitch to attach them but didn't get far!

What do you dream of for your community?

The books are still getting read!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (I'm awarding myself a ⭐ for every finish!)

I was just in the park with a friend and the kids and she was telling me that she gets her books from the charity shop and often reads them on the train. When she's finished she just looks around to find someone else who is reading and gives them the book. I would love that to happen to me!! She's reading Before the Coffee Gets Cold at the moment and I've lined myself up to get it next (might have to accidentally bump into her on the train tho πŸ˜†).

What are you reading? What should I add to my pile to read? I'm about to finish Pachinko and I've absolutely loved it.

A throw back to my green streak. I loved this pop of colour that matched perfectly to my purse at the time! Swipe for the outtakes.... πŸ˜†

Really proud that our ward voted in three Green councillors yesterday. There is hope πŸ’š.
