Real Living Wage rises to £14.10 per hour in Scotland 📢

The new Real Living Wage Scotland rate is an important step in recognising the value of workers and the contribution they make every day.

At Capital Service Solutions Group Ltd, we’re proud to champion fair pay and ensure that the people behind our services are recognised for the vital work they do.

As the first Scottish-headquartered Recognised Service Provider to achieve this prestigious accreditation, we understand the importance of not only supporting the Real Living Wage, but continuing to implement each increase. It’s an important part of our ongoing commitment to valuing our people and ensuring their hard work and dedication are reflected in their pay.

We’re pleased to see the announcement of the new rate featured by both STV News and The Edinburgh Reporter, with our Managing Director, Moreland McDiarmid, featured in both publications.

Celebrating 5 years with Capital Service Solutions Group! 🎉

Last week, we had the pleasure of celebrating two fantastic members of the Capital team, both reaching their 5-year anniversaries with us.

Both colleagues have made a fantastic contribution while supporting the same valued client across different sites in the region: one as a Site Supervisor in Bathgate, West Lothian, and the other as a dedicated Cleaning Operative at Maxim Park in Glasgow.

Five years is a huge milestone, and it’s one we believe is important to recognise and celebrate. 👏

Long service like this reflects the dedication, commitment and pride our people bring to their work. It highlights the strong relationships they build with our clients, the standards they maintain every day and the important role they play within the wider Capital team.

Our people are at the heart of our business, and their continued commitment is a huge part of what makes us successful. We’re proud to have colleagues who have grown with Capital, built lasting relationships and continue to make a real difference to the service we provide.

It’s also a great reminder of the breadth of work our teams deliver across different locations, supporting our clients wherever they need us, from West Lothian and Glasgow to sites right across the UK. 📍

A fantastic evening at the Facilities Management Awards UK 2026. 🏆

We were proud to attend alongside colleagues, clients and partners from across the facilities management sector, and to be shortlisted for two awards:

A Happy Retirement to Lynne! 👏

Last Friday, we said a fond farewell to Lynne as she retired after many years of dedicated service at one of our highly valued client sites in Glasgow.

Lynne has been an incredible member of the team, always bringing commitment and a positive attitude to everything she did. She has built wonderful relationships with both our client and colleagues, and her presence on site will certainly be missed.

To mark the occasion, one of our Account Managers, June Godfrey, who looks after the Glasgow area, paid Lynne a visit before she finished her final shift to present her with flowers and wish her all the very best for this exciting new chapter.

It has been a pleasure having you as part of the Capital family, and we wish you a long, happy and well-deserved retirement filled with good health, happiness and plenty of time to enjoy the things you love.

We are delighted to welcome Lindsey Wilson to Capital Service Solutions Group Ltd, as one of our new Area Supervisors. 👏

Lindsey joins our growing operations team and will be based from our Preston office, overseeing a number of our contracts across the North of England. With a strong focus on delivering exceptional service, supporting our frontline teams, and building lasting client relationships, Lindsey will play a key role in ensuring our high standards are maintained across the region.

Wendy brings a wealth of experience within the facilities management and cleaning services sector, having progressed through supervisory, contract management, and account management roles throughout her career. Her strong operational knowledge, leadership experience, and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service make her a fantastic addition to our team.

In her new role, Wendy will be looking after a number of our key accounts across the Central Belt, working closely with our clients to build strong relationships, ensure service excellence, and deliver tailored solutions that meet their needs. 💼

Investing in Our People 📈

Providing clear career pathways and supporting continuous development is a standard part of how we operate at Capital Service Solutions. Our Administrative Assistant, Samuel Huber, is a great example of what that looks like in practice. 👏

Samuel initially joined the company in our cleaning operations, working across multiple sites. Through his strong work ethic and positive attitude, he has since transitioned into the office team on a part-time basis, providing essential administrative support and acting as a friendly first point of contact for our clients.

Balancing work and education is something Samuel handles exceptionally well. Having recently completed his studies at West Lothian College and earning a Student of the Year award, he is now embarking on a Business & Administration apprenticeship, working towards an SVQ in Business & Administration (SCQF Level 6) to further develop his skills. 🎓

We are delighted to be partnering with West Lothian College to support Samuel through this apprenticeship programme. We hope this is the beginning of an even stronger collaboration, creating more opportunities for learning, development and future talent across our business. 🤝

Samuel's journey from the frontline to administration is just one of many internal progressions we see across the business. For us, supporting team members as they upskill, gain recognised qualifications and take on new challenges is simply the right way to grow. 🌱💙
