How will we decorate in 2026?
I personally love the optimism that January brings, along with its ties to new beginnings and the potential for fresh chapters in our home design journey. As the sparkle of festive decorations is carefully stored away for another year, many of us take a moment to evaluate our current décor; considering what still works and what may not resonate as well after the holiday season.
The good news is that 2026 is set to be an delicious year for interior design, literally! Rich chocolate and caramel tones are set to enhance and enrich last year’s ‘quiet luxe’ neutrals. Home enthusiasts will continue to explore deeper, warmer, and bolder hues, creating a comforting buffer against organic shapes and tactile textures. In an interesting twist, chrome—the stylish decorative metal that dominated the 1970s and early '80s— is making a comeback, appearing in lighting, decorative accessories, and sleek furniture designs.
I’m confident that the trend of relaxed living will keep rewarding us with beautiful home aesthetics in 2026. However, we will also witness a growing shift towards more personalised interiors, where curated treasures and vintage elements tell a unique story in people’s homes and inevitably grace their social media feeds.
