First batch of Elderflower Cordial is ready..made with flower heads gathered along the canal,(some made with golden caster sugar, some white sugar! ) This weekend a slight detour from the canal to the pop up tea rooms at Wernifigan, Trallong, LD3 8HW. with the Storm kitchen Cordials, restorative teas, bakestone welshcakes and other delights!

Everyone Welcome to WAG Artists Open Studios/exhibition and Open Garden. A wonderful creative community summer celebration full of an amazing exhibition of artworks and beautiful garden to roam. Plus more! £4. all proceeds are going to the Fathom Trust. ( see poster for details)

Storm Kitchen will be opening again in June...when boat Bruno has turned around (near Llangattock) when the hatch is on the towpath side again. Cruised from Talybont to Llangynidr Locks today, moored up just before the first lock. such a special spot.perfect for a picnic amoungst the trees and what joy..its the time of the Elderflower!🥂

Oh the joys of spring and wild garlic in abundance!

Tomorrow Friday 9th May, Storm Kitchen will be open at Brynich! now with an overhauled wood burner will be making Bakestone Turkish style flatbreads with assortments of fillings (vegan and vegetarian) wild garlic, feta, seasonal young herbs and green leafy salads. Freshly picked Restorative teas (mint, lemon balm and marjoram infusions). welsh cakes and other delights!

All community Roving Larder stock will be on display aboard - including Amanda Rayners - Wildwoodwillow beautiful baskets and bird feeders, Marks' bread boards, Jess Tanner's Singing Nettle lovely hand crafted Eco ware, Beautiful selection of Hand printed cards of Birds by Viv Kersey, and bring a bottle to fill with Storm Kitchens Nettle and Rosemary nurturing hair tonic. (cash only please)

Storm Kitchen INVITES local growers, foragers, small scale producers, independent makers, creatives to sell, share, add stock to the Community Roving Larder at different locations along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. welcome aboard; non perishable food, preserves, dried produce (natural, organic) and handmade natural products, crafts, cookware, recipe books, cards and more ! made with love. ❤

Today Storm Kitchen will be closed. Apologies for such last minute change of plan!!!.. but the day is calling for harvesting...taking time to gather wild plants and herbs for the making of restorative teas. Amazing Nettle before it goes into flower, Meadow sweet leaves and plantain amongst the many......Calming Meadow sweet grows like wildfire along the canal towpath, she loves the watery edge.

Sunshine Soup, buckwheat wild garlic flatbreads, Carribbean chocolate cake, cranberry bakestone welsh cakes...on the menu yesterday..with spring restorative teas - freshly picked lemon balm, plantain, cleavers, nettle, mint. Last day at Whatton Wharf. then a lovely Cruise to next stop Brynich. Will be making the most of this dry spell over the next week. painting and essential kitchen wood stove maintenance before opening up again. will be posting updates.Happy sunshine!!!

Storm Kitchen will be Open on Sunday 27th April from 12 - 5pm. with a menu including hearty soup, carribbean chocolate cake and fresh spring restorative teas. Throughout the afternoon all gardeners, growers are invited to bring surplus plants and seedlings and seeds to share. Happy gardening, happy Spring! see you on Sunday..the last day at Bridge 165 Whatton Wharf for a while! next stop Brynich.
