A HUGE thank you to everyone who came to yesterday’s Printing with Recycled Materials workshop where we experimented with Tetra Pak printmaking.

I never tire of seeing the ingenuity and creativity that people have and the range of prints that were created from this unassuming (and at times temperamental) medium. I learn just as much in these workshops by seeing people exploring and playing, and how people approach new media and materials.

Thanks again to for hosting us in your breathtaking cafe and workshop space. I can’t wait for the next workshop already!

I’m back at Pipoca on June 14th for my Summer Solstice metal embossing workshop where we’ll be making golden sunshine decorations to celebrate the long summer days šŸŒž ticket link in my bio or sign up to my Substack newsletter to find out about other upcoming workshops xx

Using an old oat milk carton to make a ginkgo leaf print. Being drawn more and more to printing with Tetra Pak because of the varied and subtle colours and textures you can achieve with it. What do you think of these?

A few tickets still available for my Printing with Recycled Materials workshop tomorrow 1pm at London. See the link in my bio or DM for details xx

This Sunday!

The effects and versatility of making prints with old Tetra Pak oat milk cartons never ceases to surprise me and I can’t wait to share everything I know in my ā€œPrinting with Recycled Materialsā€ workshop this Sunday, 1pm at Brixton.

There’s going to be a small group of us so I will be able to give everyone plenty of dedicated time and attention ā˜ŗļø I promise you’ll be amazed what you can create, plus is a beautiful space to work in and while away a creative afternoon xx

What happens when a printmaker organises a kids birthday party? Lino-printed sketchbooks/nature journals for the party bags, that’s what!

I can’t believe my youngest is a whole year old. Time has done that thing it does when you have a baby - my pregnancy and his birth feel like a lifetime ago (well they literally are I guess), and yet I can’t help but think he’s grown up so fast.

Birch trees were a natural theme for our little gathering as he was born in the ā€œBirchā€ room of the birth centre and as birch often symbolises new beginnings (especially in Celtic lore as the first tree in the Ogham).

There were a range of ages of children who came to celebrate with us, so these nature journals were a great party bag item for any age to enjoy. I wonder what the children will draw in them 🄰

Yes you read that right - I used an old Tetrapak oat milk carton to create this print.

The more I work with Tetrapak as a print surface, the more I love the unique and myriad textures, effects and moods it’s possible to create with it. Plus the fact it’s giving a second purpose to something that would have been thrown away. I’m working with some new ideas that explore the theme of permanence/impermanence, and using the medium of tetrapak feels very fitting given its own impermanence in our daily life but permanence in the earth as a whole. More on that to come!

Meanwhile, I’ll be sharing everything I know on tetrapak printmaking in my upcoming ā€œPrinting with Recycled Materialsā€ workshop at on Sunday 17th May (1-4pm) - tickets are available via my bio. I can’t wait to show you how an unassuming piece of scrap packaging can turn into beautiful art xx

Thanks to for hosting the printing sesh in this video and looking forward to returning the favour soon!

THIS SUNDAY 1pm - last tickets remaining

Learn lino printing in this relaxed 3-hour session where I take you through everything from designing your block, carving techniques all the way to printing your very own piece of striking art to take home.

It’s a small group session so places are limited to make sure everyone has my undivided attention to get the best out of your lino print.

But don’t take it from me, here’s what Laura thought: ā€œI have attended 2 of Lizi’s lino printing workshops and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. Lizi is expert at breaking down the process of lino printing and making even the least artistic person (me) feel capable of producing something beautiful. Lizi produces a calm and relaxing environment, allowing you to become absorbed in the creativity. Being small group sessions allows you to get to know the other people in the group and an easy and relaxed conversation flows. I would thoroughly recommend an evening of lino printing with Lizi, whether you have any artistic skills or not!ā€

DM me for the booking link, head to silvaprints.com or fin the ticket link in my profile. I hope to see you there! ###

I’m not saying it’ll solve all life’s problems; but I’ve never been sad leaning against a tree with my sketchbook while listening to the birds & the rustling leaves…

The arrival of Spring and some lighter days always make it easier to get out and just be in the world. I’ve come to realise that this is the taproot of my practice and creativity. If all else were to fall away, and I could only choose one element of my creative practice, it would be this.

I don’t often share my sketches here as they are so much more about the experience of observing than they are about technique or result. Sometimes I don’t even draw a thing. My latest woodpecker print came out of standing and listening to a local bird knocking high up in an old oak tree, only faintly picking him out as a blurred shape with a fleck of red.

This week I have plans to head out to my favourite woodland to gather wild garlic and bask in the dappled light from the canopy coming into full leaf. Spring’s magic.

šŸ…

It’s true: there’s nothing that compares to fresh homegrown tomatoes on a hot summer day picked fresh from the vine after ripening and warming in the sun. Some of my favourites are Sweet Aperitif, Sungold & Costoluto Fiorentino. Seriously though the sweetness is otherworldly. I sowed my seeds last weekend and it feels like an age before they’ll be ready to harvest, but they will be so worth it!
