SOLD: Antique Victorian Riding Boots

A handsome pair of antique lace-up riding / field boots. c.1900. Crafted from beautiful rich brown leather, which has aged and pattinated over time. These would have originally been made “bespoke” for the rider and are of particularly attractive proportions. Exceptional quality. They come complete with their original solid wooden trees, and would make an excellent display item. Would not be at all out of place in the grandest of country manors.

Don’t sleep on this one, it will go fast!!! A Louis Vuitton Rayee brass-bound trunk made in 1889 in great condition for its age. Inside are the original four trays complete with key.

A Louis Vuitton Rayee brass-bound trunk made in 1889, a rare example of this famous and long discontinued design. Fully brass bound and with brass handles, original rayee canvas, original interior ribbon on the lid in the colours of the French flag which was only made for one year in 1889 to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the French revolution.

A house is not a home without a life sized Highland Bull!

This spectacular life-size Highland Bull by world renowned artist James Doran Webb is made with life size driftwood and a stainless-steel frame, ideal for outdoors. Webb exhibits each year at the Chelsea Flower Show.

James has amassed an extensive collection of driftwood, varying in size and form from small pieces to large natural sculptures, each piece hewn by natural forces into a myriad of individual shapes. The wood is found along the shorelines, riverbeds and valleys of the archipelago and is predominantly one species of wood which is incredibly oily and dense enough to withstand decades of exposure both extreme tropical climate and intense frosts. Indeed, this wood has already withstood at least a half century of exposure since dying.

FOR SALE: Limited Edition Drum Major Brooch

Picture the iconic annual ceremony of Trooping the Colour on Horseguards Parade in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen and most of the Royal Family. The most impressive part of this birthday present from her personal troops is when the 300 Musicians of the Massed Bands march past the Sovereign in slow and quick time.

The bands are led by the five Drum Majors in full state dress. When you are appointed Drum Major in the Guards you are made a personal drummer to the Sovereign which is why they wear the uniform of the Royal Household. That uniform is adorned with a scarlet apron which is held in place by a beautiful brooch.

The Senior Drum Major has the honour of wearing a brooch depicting the Divisional Badge of the Guards with the Latin motto Septem Juncta in Uno (Seven joined in one), representing the seven regiments who have the honour of guarding the Queen.

Only one man in the whole of the Guards Division has the distinction of wearing this beautiful brooch. This is one of a limited-edition (10) commissioned by The Guards Museum. Each badge is boxed and comes with an authenticating certificate.

SOLD: Bronze Cast “The Hand of Churchill.”

The history of this fascinating bronze cast dates back to the 1950s when the renowned
sculptor Oscar Nemon, was struggling to sculpt Churchill’s hand as he wanted it, for the statue he was commissioned to create for London’s Guildhall. He made two plaster casts of the hand: one splayed (now in the Churchill Archives of Churchill College, Cambridge) the other clawed (the original
is held by the Churchill War Rooms).

Ultimately unveiled in 1955, Nemon went on to create
numerous Churchill statues (such as the one in the lobby of the Houses of Parliament).

This particular cast was created by Nemon’s estate in 2004 and is believed to be exceptionally rare – one of no more than 5.
