When life gives you lemons… turn an awkward attic into a Neo-Deco sanctuary. 🍋✨

After having planning permission to enlarge our loft space rejected—twice!—we decided to stop fighting the architecture and start embracing it. The goal? Turn a tight, low-ceiling, almost impractical space into something deeply functional, cozy, and luxurious.

Even though standard heights said “no bathtub,” we made it a non-negotiable priority. To soften the awkward sloped ceilings and narrow footprint, we brought in:
🦪 Mother-of-Pearl tiles in a herringbone pattern to reflect light and bring the feeling of sea shells into an enclosed space.
🦩 A delicate bird wallpaper for a soft, feminine touch and a pop of warmth.
👑 Art Deco accents—from fluted walnut and brushed brass to round sconces—for that touch of glamour.

My favourites of WOW!house 2026 Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour - Luxury Interiors . It was a bliss, as always. A walk through a magical land. Congrats to all the designers and partners ‘in crime’. 👏

This is a way to see the vibe of British design, the details, textures, story telling, the history reinterpretation. A ‘haute couture’ of design, in my humble opinion.

Meeting not one but three of the master minds behind these rooms (have picture with only one) was the cherry on top. Hope they feel how their work is influencing intellectually and spiritually. At least, this is my case.

POV: You just learned that “Digital Colour Accuracy” is a myth designed to break our hearts. 💔🎨

Swipe to see the evolution of my bathroom project: from the “perfectly curated multi-colour Zellige dream” (the screen version) to the reality where 90% of the box decided to be “Minimalist Ghost White.” 👻

Yes, I asked for samples.
Yes, they didn’t arrive.
Yes, the little internal alarm bell in my brain was screaming, “ABORT MISSION!”
And yes, I clicked “Order” anyway because this is the way!

The tiles arrived, the panic as well, and for a hot second, I thought my concept is ruined together with its delivery as the builders were counting the seconds.

But in the world of interior design, a “mistake” is just a pivot in disguise. Everything was recalibrated, I embraced the tonal texture, added some moody COAT paint, and honestly? I Love the result.

Stay tuned for the “Neo-Deco” bathroom reveal. Because if you aren’t risking it all for a vibe, are you even renovating? 🛠️✨

From Runaway to Nilufar

A week has passed since the whirlwind of Milan Design Week, and as the Met Gala takes center stage, the parallels are impossible to ignore. This year’s Met theme, ‘Costume Art,’ invites us to view fashion through the lens of sculpture and history. It immediately brings me back to the “Interior Art” I experienced in Milan—specifically within the cinematic worlds of Nilufar Gallery.

Three Stages, One Vision
If the Met is the high for couture curation, Nilufar is its domestic counterpart. Both celebrate the rare, the archival, and the avant-garde.
• Nilufar Depot (The Grand Hotel): Much like the Met’s grand staircase, the Depot acts as a vast, theatrical stage. The “Grand Hotel” setup felt like a gathering of icons—each room a suite where collectible design pieces performed their own high-fashion roles.
• Nilufar Spiga (La Casa Magica): This was the “after-party”—intimate, surreal, and deeply curated. It transformed the traditional gallery into a sanctuary of wonder, proving that a home can be as transformative as a couture gown.
• Salone Raritas, the high-end craftsmanship curation in the middle of Salone del Milano.

Design is no longer just about function; it is about the “Gala” of the everyday. Just as the Met celebrates the artistry of the body, Nilufar celebrates the artistry of the space, as its own Gala.

A masterclass in the art of the welcome.

In the beautiful chaos of Milan Design Week, Palazzo Ralph Lauren felt less like a showcase and more like a home. Beyond the curated rooms and the Canyon Road tailoring, it was the warmth of the people—the smiles, the grace, and the genuine pleasure of hosting—that left the lasting impression. A rare moment of feeling exactly “right.” 🏛️✨
