🥾 The Capital Ring

☀️ A 78 mile route circling London and linking parks, woods, waterways and some of outer Londons hidden gems, this ones a surprising treat.

🦊 Frosty adventure pup

🥾 Training this little guy to become an expert hiking companion. At the moment he stops to sniff every 2 metres, sprints off to see other dogs, and listens to me about 50% of the time, so still some work to do 🙃

🧭 The West Highland Way

🥾 A 96 mile route taking you from near Glasgow, to Fort William which is the natural launchpad for taking on the tallest mountain in the UK; Ben Nevis.

🌳 Estimated around 36,000 people complete the trail each year. I'd be intrigued to know how many then smash up Ben Nevis once they're done !

🦅 If you're lucky, you may even spot a Golden Eagle on the route

📍Getting out into the South Downs National Park is still one of my favourite things to do on a weekend.

🥾 This was from a few weekends ago, with the weather lulling us into a false sense of security and then smashed us with a storm. Definitely didn't check the forecast so was woefully unprepared for it.

🏃‍♂️ Cue a bit of sprinting across fields with the dog, aiming to get into woodland as quick as possible, and getting soaked through in the process, I couldn't ask for a better way to spend a Sunday.

🗺 This was based out of Midhurst, which is a delightful little market town in the National Park

🗺 The Two Moors Way patch, featuring the iconic Tarr Steps which is on the route

📍 Snaking between Ivybridge on the edge of Dartmoor and Lymmouth which is on the north coast of Exmoor, you're in for a treat if you embark on this journey.

🎒 The biggest surprise for me was the section crossing mid Devon, where the verdant landscape and gentle rolling hills were a welcome break from the rugged and exposed moorland of Dartmoor.

🏞 The section featuring the Tarr Steps was by far my favourite day of the trip. Following the River Barle all the way into our accommodation, a delightful pub in Withypool called The Royal Oak Inn ()

🌊 Wainwright's Coast to Coast

🥾 192 miles of ever-changing landscapes, from the rugged cliffs of St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay. The Wainwright’s Coast to Coast is more than just a hike—it’s a journey through multiple National Parks.

🦢 The closest National Trail to my home; The Thames Path.

🥾 Meandering from the source near Kemble in the Cotswolds, all the way to the capital and out into the sea to the East of London.

🐦 I've done many sections of this, but not the whole route. Has anyone who follows me completed it?

...and that's a wrap!

Very excited for 2025, and thank you too all of you who supported us in 2024.

Here are a few pics from a delightful walk in Gloucestershire. A loop from North Cerney via Rendcombe, with this mist stubbornly remaining in place for the whole walk, giving it a cool eery vibe! Ft. Buzz, who managed to walk 20 miles even though we only did 9 🙃

Here's to 2025!
