It’s all in the details

Another view from our recent stair runner installation, and one that really shows the craftsmanship involved.

The contrasting striped tape continues seamlessly from the stair runner onto the landing, with a completely bespoke border shaped around the newel post before continuing down the next flight.

These are the details that require careful measuring, planning and skilled installation to get right.

At Abbott’s Interiors, we’ve been measuring, supplying and fitting flooring since 1882. While styles have changed considerably over the years, the importance of good craftsmanship hasn’t.

A beautiful staircase and a finish our fitting team can be proud of.

A beautiful statement fabric to bring these rooms to life

Recently installed made-to-measure curtains in House of Hackney fabric, adding colour, pattern and plenty of character to this lovely home.

The curtains have been fitted onto Silent Gliss Metropole, giving the appearance of a decorative pole while offering the smooth operation of a Silent Gliss track system. A great choice for combining traditional curtain styling with modern hardware.

We love how the rich botanical pattern works against the soft pink walls and complements the existing furniture.

Measured, specified and installed with precision

A beautiful recently completed bespoke stair runner, finished with contrasting decorative tapes and custom-shaped borders carefully worked around every turn, landing and newel post.

Stair runners like this are all about the details. From the initial measure and specification through to the final fitting, every section needs to line up perfectly to create a continuous, balanced finish throughout the staircase.

At Abbott’s Interiors, we’ve been fitting flooring since 1882, and projects like this are a great example of the craftsmanship and attention to detail that remain at the heart of what we do more than 140 years later.

Traditional skills, beautifully finished for modern homes.

Beautifully tailored, made to measure ✨

A recent installation of interlined curtains in beautiful Romo Linara fabric.

The interlining adds extra body and structure to the curtains, creating a fuller, more luxurious drape while also providing additional insulation.

We love the simplicity of this scheme — soft neutral fabric, elegant pleating and a dark pole creating just the right amount of contrast.

A classic choice for a beautiful bay window

Recently installed made-to-measure plantation shutters, designed to follow the shape of this bay perfectly.

Shutters are a great option for bay windows, giving you flexible control over privacy and natural light while keeping the window looking clean and uncluttered.

The adjustable louvres mean you can maintain privacy at bedroom level while still letting plenty of daylight into the room.

Before & after

A great transformation from one of our recent projects.

We installed beautiful herringbone wood flooring throughout the ground floor, alongside a new Fibre carpet fitted to the staircase.

The curved bottom steps needed plenty of care and attention during installation, but the finished result works beautifully – particularly where the soft texture of the carpet meets the natural oak herringbone flooring.

A lovely project to be part of and a great example of how combining different flooring finishes can completely transform an entrance and staircase.

Light control. Privacy. Blackout. All in one.

Recently installed Luxaflex® Pirouette® A Deux blinds, combining the beautiful light control of a Pirouette shade with a built-in blackout roller blind.

During the day, the soft fabric vanes can be adjusted to filter the light and provide varying levels of privacy, while the integrated blackout blind can be lowered when complete privacy and room darkening are required.

Two blinds working together within one beautifully designed system – perfect for bedrooms where you want flexibility throughout the day and night.

eautiful herringbone flooring with the details to match

A recent installation of herringbone wood flooring, bringing warmth and character to this lovely home.

One of our favourite details on this project is the transition between the timber flooring and the large-format tiles. We created custom solid oak threshold bars to give a clean, considered finish between the two different floor surfaces.

The herringbone pattern works beautifully with the natural oak joinery and gives the hallway a timeless finish.

A lovely project to be part of and a great example of how the finishing details can make all the difference.

Privacy where you need it, light where you want it

Recently installed Luxaflex Duette® Top Down Bottom Up blinds with PowerView® motorisation.

The Top Down Bottom Up system is perfect for bedrooms and overlooked windows, allowing you to position the blind anywhere within the window. Here we’ve created privacy at bed level while still allowing plenty of natural light in from above.

With PowerView®, the blinds can be adjusted at the touch of a button or automated to suit your daily routine.

A smart combination of privacy, light control, insulation and motorisation.

A neat solution for modern windows

Recently installed Luxaflex Duette® TruFit blinds, fitted directly to the window frames.

The TruFit system is completely screwless, so there’s no drilling into the window frame. The blinds sit neatly against the glass and move with opening doors and windows, giving a really clean, integrated finish.

Combined with Duette’s honeycomb fabric, they also offer excellent light control, privacy and improved insulation.

A great option where you want the blinds to feel like part of the window rather than an addition to it.
