Vogue Living Scandinavia out today! Shot on the farm on a warm August day and thanks to Fia Tegnèr and the rest of the team it was actually a blast, which I think comes across in Andrea Papini vivid pictures of which they are many more. You have to get the new issue of Vogue Scandinavia out on stands now to see it all OR get yourself a subscription to read it online. And to top it all of Linnéa ✭ has written a wonderful piece which I think captures the spirit of it perfectly, a few warts and all. Thank you martinabonnier for inviting me to do this. I am unable to avoid sounding like a cliché at this point: I feel proud and honoured!

I’ve been thinking about making a good stripe for years. Our new Pyjama Stripe is gentle, fairly light with a pleasing amount of variation in the repeat. It doesn’t insist on itself but it has a presence for sure, adding grandeur and elegance with a humble air. I installed it in our dining room in London and in our bedroom in Sweden and it has given both spaces a real lift. It makes picture hanging (which is always on me) a doddle as the lines guide you. The best thing about it though is that you can have a lot of fun with how you place it. You can hang every other cut upside down to create a larger repeat, you can mirror it, or just go random depending on your space. There are no rigid rules - you’re free to experiment! There is a musical quality to the pattern, the lines reminding me of strings on a guitar or a cello or even the staff on sheet music. You could say… it makes the room sing ;).

If you’re in town on Monday, come and see it - we have an Open House.

When we were designing our kitchen at 188 Hammersmith Road we found ourselves in a spot of bother. What we really needed were some stylish spotlights but there were none to be found. So…as the saying goes: ‘if you want something done right, do it yourself’. We began with a spotlight rail, which is fitted on adjustable chains offering flexible, directional lighting closer to counter tops even when your ceilings are tall. I have actually never seen spotlight rails on chains before and it has proved an excellent solution for kitchens and utility spaces across every project I’ve worked on since. Soon followed a single spot which can be fitted both on walls and ceilings. Then we did a double spot and a characterful picture light in the same language. Perfect for slightly smarter illumination in living rooms and studies. I have been chomping at the bit to add them to Shoppa, so I’m delighted the day has come at last: the 188 Collection is officially available to purchase. And for y’all across the pond, US versions have been designed to fit with J-Boxes and are UL listed. Follow link in stories to see the full collection.

It didn’t take me long to become entranced by the elusive powers of an excellent chintz. Some of them, such as the one used in Diana Vreeland’s drawing room ‘A garden in hell’ sourced from John Fowler no less, is the stuff of legends. I have been thinking about adding one to the collection for a long time.

Our Summer Chintz is my attempt at bottling the feeling of summer: wild arrangements of roses, blousy peonies, delicate anemones and flirty marigolds, interspersed with tough wheatsheaves from the farm where I grew up. The fabric is rotary screen printed on 100% cotton, giving a vivid depth to each colour — connecting it to the great chintzes of days of yore. We’ve also made a wallpaper: a deconstructed version of the pattern that is surflex printed using rollers, giving it a traditional, soft and painterly print mark.

Memories of summer – for our Summer Chintz… Feeling sticky, tomatoes, cake in the afternoon, my mother’s garden, walking across slippery stones in the stream, reading in long grass, making friends with a caterpillar… Filmed a few weeks ago on the farm where I grew up in the South of Sweden.

We’ve spent a long time developing a particular new fabric which I have been thinking about for years. It’s launching on 1 July – inching closer…! This was filmed on a hot summer day on the farm in Sweden with .form a few weeks ago🌞
