I want to start by saying a massive thank you for all the love, support, kind messages, phone calls and texts I’ve received over the last few days. It means so much and has really kept me going. 🙏🏾

A quick update.

There’s not a lot to say really… we lost everything. And when I say everything, I mean everything we had in the office and had built up over so many years!

Samples, stock, archives, memories… all gone!

But in all the darkness, there is light. Thank God all of our print files were digitised, and as of today we are already back producing and fulfilling orders. I’m so grateful.

My heart goes out to all the fellow businesses affected, especially those who were less fortunate, had no insurance, and lost their livelihoods. It’s heartbreaking.

Above all, the most important thing is that no one was hurt. No lives lost. And for that, we give thanks. 🙏🏾

We are working on how to come back stronger now and despite all the stress, I feel strong and focused on building something bigger and better!

Last night, our London studio and office burnt down in a devastating fire.

I still can’t quite believe I am writing these words.

Years of work, stock, samples, materials and memories gone overnight.

What matters most, and what I am deeply grateful for, is that no one from our team or any of the other businesses in the building was hurt. My heart goes out to everyone affected.

I received the news from afar and am still trying to process it all.

For now, many of our products will unfortunately be unavailable, although some of our cushions, lampshades and other pieces are thankfully safe in our warehouse.

I will be back in London next week to understand the full scale of what has happened and to start picking up the pieces with my team.

Right now it feels overwhelming, but if there is one thing I know, it is that even in loss there can be space for new beginnings.

Thank you for all your support, your patience and your kind messages. It means the world to me.

Xx Eva

Sometimes you just have to dance. 💃🏾✨

I initially only wanted to take a picture of the incredible textile artwork by 📸

Then my sister friends joined me and suddenly it turned into a little celebration of fashion, friendship, creativity and laughter.

Swipe to the end if you’d like to see the artwork on its own. It’s worth it, believe me.

Can you feel the energy?

My spirit and soul are full!

I’ve just returned from the opening weekend at , and what a special experience it was.

More than a decade ago, I met the incredible Bukky from at the British High Commission in Lagos. When she called me recently and invited me to participate in the opening of Tales House London, my answer was an immediate YES.

From the moment we first met, I was inspired by her passion, determination and commitment to championing African brands, creatives and entrepreneurs.
Her energy and beauty are infectious, her vision inspiring, and her dedication to elevating African excellence has left such a lasting impression on me.

This weekend, that vision came to life beautifully.

Located at 23 Cavendish Square, just moments from Oxford Street, Tales House London brings together an inspiring collection of African brands, fashion, design, lifetstyle and culture in one vibrant space. The conversations, sisterhood, connections and shared experiences I experienced today exceeded all my expectations.

It was wonderful to reconnect with new and familiar faces, discover exciting new brands and celebrate the incredible creativity emerging from Africa and its diaspora.

What makes this even more exciting is that Bukky has secured this space for an entire year, creating an ongoing platform where different African brands will be showcased and celebrated throughout the year ahead. If you haven’t visited yet, I would highly encourage you to do so and follow their journey.

Bukky, thank you for your vision, your generosity of spirit and for creating a space that allows us African businesses to be seen, celebrated and supported in the heart of London. You continue to inspire me 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾

And yes, I couldn’t leave empty-handed. I may now be the proud owner of a few (more) beautiful pieces from fellow African brands that I absolutely fell in love with.

My products are there until 11 June and I’ll be 💯 back to experience the forthcoming events!

Have you visited yet?

Introducing the Eyo cushions, a collection that feels very special to me for so many rea*ons.

Our cushion collections have always been at the heart of Eva Sonaike. They were where my journey began - translating my love of colour, pattern and texture into beautifully crafted pieces for the home. Every cushion tells a story, and this new collection continues that story with a fresh, refined perspective.

Eyo marks a new direction for us, introducing linen cushions for the first time. It’s part of a line I’ve completely fallen in love with: simple, yet strong and quietly impactful. I love designs that whisper rather than shout, and Eyo does exactly that.

Crafted from beautifully textured linen and inspired by the interplay of light, shadow and pattern, Eyo brings depth, warmth and an understated sophistication to any space. Its refined palette and delicate finish create an effortless sense of luxury, making it both distinctive and versatile.

I’ve completely fallen in love with this range.

And a little secret: our Eyo cushions are double-sided (of course we didn’t shoot the reverse in the lifestyle images, LOL), with a beautiful plain batik backing in complementary colours and finished with a soft Italian wool fringing.

Available in two sizes and designed to layer beautifully with both colourful and neutral interiors, Eyo brings warmth, texture and character into the home.

I’m so excited to see these in your homes and spaces around the world.

What’s your favourite colour to decorate with at home?

With the new Eyo Collection, I wanted to take a softer approach to colour.

Still layered, expressive and full of depth, but quieter in its presence.

Inspired by the interplay between light and shadow, the collection explores texture in a more tactile and atmospheric way.

For the first time, we introduced linen into the collection, creating pieces that shift beautifully throughout the day as the light moves across the fabric.

This collection whispers rather than shouts.

From textured wallpaper and sculptural lampshades to cushions and pouffes, every piece was designed to bring warmth, rhythm and understated confidence into the home.

A new chapter with a softer expression of colourful living.

Spending my Saturday exactly how I like to, tapping into my “spirit spare time” and soaking up incredible Black art right here in London. 💫
Joined the Modern Black Art Club a gallery hop around Mayfair today. It was so inspiring being in a community of like-minded art lovers, continuing my quest to explore, see more, and find inspiration to bring beautiful art into my life. Beyond the familiar faces, I really loved just taking a quiet moment to see, think, and feel.
We visited three incredible spaces, and the art hit deep:
at : absolutely beautiful to see how she reinterprets traditional African textile art, layering vibrant, shiny colors and rich textures onto a*o oke.

at , was incredibly moving, especially the pieces dealing with displacement and all the written elements; honestly, there are times I feel exactly like that.

And at
, completely mesmerized by her use of colour and the raw, stunning way she portrays femininity, pain, and love.

Nothing beats Saturdays dedicated to community, connection, and brilliant art.

As a designer, I felt so connected to the stories told today and found some absolutely amazing pieces that could be perfect for future client projects or Casa Sonaike.

If any of this speaks to you, definitely go check out these galleries and follow .art
