The Pimlico Road shop can only house a continually shifting edit. We draw from our 20,000 sq ft warehouse on the outskirts of London, where whole floors are filled with furniture that has furnished, and will furnish again, the very best of houses. Vast banks of ordered racking hold hundreds of antique chimneypieces of unique quality, the backbone of Jamb.

The past twelve months have seen a series of large-scale acquisitions, most purchased directly from the houses and gardens where they had long resided. Today we sent out our newsletter detailing some of those pieces.

The light catching the top crown and elegant curved brass supports of our large Selwyn lantern. The original size we designed before adding a small and grand size to the collection. When rescaled, trefoil castings are reproportioned to work with each scale. 📷

Don’t forget your smalls! We have just printed a little catalogue documenting the full Hanbury Collection, the first designs that were developed to meet the practical demands of the space, reflecting a more utilitarian spirit within Jamb’s lighting collection. ‘A book of smalls’ is now available from our shop on the Pimlico Road. 📷

Our wonderful Langtry lantern joined the collection only recently, and we have now reimagined it in a smaller size.
Swipe through to see the design reinterpreted as a globe, retaining its finely articulated framework of curved brass anchored by a single encircling band. Shown in the Letchworth finish with distressed gilt highlights - a time-softened bronze gently lifted by touches of gold. 📷

In our latest journal entry we explore the theme behind this Geo 111 chimneypiece (ref G442) The exquisitely carved central tablet depicts a young shepherdess having her future told. “Show me your palm and I will reveal your future”, we can almost hear these words spoken by the fortune teller as she holds the hand of the during their encounter. The tablet is set within a mantel of Blue Jasper, Bardiglio, Yellow Sicilian Jasper and Spanish Brocatello with Blue John Plaques.
