See you tomorrow at Adams Antiques Fairs

Coming with us is this very rare Sèvres vase, one of only four made in this shape at the manufactory.

Our vase is one of two vases made in 1892 and described in the archives as ‘2 Vase Saint Gratien decoré fond jaune d’email P.N. Prix vente 200F’ [‘2 Saint Gratien vases decorated yellow enamel background P.N. Sale price 200F’].

Black printed marks for 1892 for both the firing of the form and the decoration, incised letters and numerals JB 92 – 8 – PN

You’re owl-loud (!) to think that is a piece of taxidermy, such was the skill of August Ringler to produce the most accomplished of bird figures to near-scale proportions and realistic decoration at the Meissen porcelain manufactory.
