People ask how I decide what goes in the shop. This is how.

I fall for the object first. I keep turning it over in my hands. I become my own customer and only once I am quietly obsessed with the piece, it carries the Vaarsa name.

There is a certain hour after a long shift when the body just wants something. For Dr Puja Sharma, it used to be bhujiya.

Then she went back to her roots. Her badi maa’s black sesame aka till ke laddoo. Dark, nutty, quietly full of everything the seed mix carries. The kind of recipe that was never written down, only shown, hand over hand.

Now it is a weekend ritual. The seed blend lives in her Brass Spice Box, portioned to the exact ratio she needs for the full week. The finished laddoo rest in a Brass Jar, catching a warm glow at sunset.

This is the first of our new series, Cooking with the Dabba. Real people, real kitchens, real conversations, the spice box doing far more than holding spice.

Thank you for letting us into your home, Puja

Can you guess what is dropping tomorrow?

Here is what we will say.
- We walked into a real kitchen.
- Turned on the camera.
- Let the dabba do the talking.

Seven little wells. One recipe passed down. One craving quietly solved.

The rest waits until tomorrow.

A crazy idea in January. First sample in June. Yours to buy in August.

Yes that’s how long it takes to bring something to life in brass.

════════
New in.

📌 The brass spoon, four inches, our brand motif cut clean into the handle.

• This is the first batch. And we have made only forty.

• Each one is cut and finished by hand in Moradabad, so no two sit quite alike.

• It is Small enough to live inside the canister, made for the sugar, the loose chai, the spices, the coffee you measure out slowly every morning. You dip it, you tip it, the granules fall in a thin line.

════════

This is what I wanted in our kitchens. A piece of heritage we can hold. 💫

Thank you to everyone who kept asking me for a spoon. 25% already sold. 75% available for you to bring home.

I started Vaarsa because I was homesick. Everything since has been me trying to fix that with brass, kansa, and the work of makers back home. Turns out I am not the only one.

Grateful I get to do this every day.

Grateful I get to do this with makers I actually know.

Grateful this homesickness turned into a shop.

Grateful to build this, object by object.

A desi Harry Potter grazing table, brought to life the Vaarsa way.

You have seen the snitch candles our guests flew home with. This is the table that fed them first.

Thank you Chef Abhilasha (Abhilasha Chandak) for taking my vision and making it real.

✨ Sorting Hat samosas on the Charpayi Serving Tray.
✨ Pao Bhaji condiments sorted into Brass Spice Box.
✨ Teak boards carrying from the Forbidden Forest mushroom tartlets to Dragon Fire chilli paneer skewers.

Still thinking about the names.
Still thinking about the serveware by Vaarsa London .

===========

This is why building Vaarsa feels like the best thing I have done. It hands me the tools for my own creativity and a place to share them.

=============

This table is a perfect example of what I look for in the objects I curate. They earn their place at a party & hold it everyday after. They are worth giving and keeping. And turns out, worth gathering around too.

Swipe through and if your mouth waters, Chef Abhilasha (Abhilasha Chandak) has you sorted.
