How's everyone's summer hols going? Anyone tired of the endless heat?! 🌻🔥

We've been beavering away behind the scenes preparing for our 8th MAKE AND MEND FESTIVAL which will take place for the first time at the iconic art deco Hornsey Town Hall set in thriving and creative Crouch End, North London.

💛 This lively, inspiring event invites visitors to enjoy making and mending workshops, learn new skills or hobbies, and shop from local makers.

🧡Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a total beginner looking to spark a new passion, the Festival is your invitation to slow down, create, and connect.

🎨We have an amazing line-up of workshops and fantastic makers joining us in the market zone.

Not all details are finalised, but if you want to have a sneak peek, some of the workshops are already open for booking on our website with more to follow.

Check back for more updates at the beginning of September!

👉️In the meantime, head to our Make and Mend page for more info www.muswellhillcreatives.com/make-and-mend

Big thanks to our sponsors, and .people for providing us with the space as part of the A Hall for All Scheme.

Getting ahead! Always a good plan 🎃

I generally begin my summer with a resolution to get a early start on seasonal pieces for the autumn/winter ahead…
Usually, I fail miserably 🤪, but remarkably I have had a bit of time this week to work on a few seasonal items (now drying in preparation for their first firing…)
(Of course, am now at high risk of resting on my laurels and still frantically playing throwing catch-up in October! 🤣)

Our annual exhibitions blog has officially become a cherished tradition. After the whirlwind of very hot summer fairs and markets, this is the moment we look forward to. It's time to press pause, step away from the studio, and head out to explore the incredible wealth of creativity on display in London and beyond.

For our community of artists and makers, these gallery visits are so much more than a day out. They are essential. Immersing ourselves in curation, colour, and concept provides a vital mental break as well as inspiring future work.

We hope you enjoy this year's recommendations which include:

⭐️Marilyn Monroe at The National Portrait Gallery
⭐️Anish Kapoor at The Hayward Gallery
⭐️Frida Kahlo at Tate Britain
⭐️Schiaparelli at the V&A
⭐️The RA Summer Exhibition
⭐️Nina Hamnett permanent display at Tate Britain. Nina's the great aunt of MHC founder Rachael ❤️
