Have been MIA but I'm working on getting back my spark.

Life without Dad is so hard. Some days the pain and grief is so intense it's a physical pain.

I'm so grateful for the amazing people I have around me.

Thank you also to my lovely BU community for the messages and continual orders.

I'm still working on BU behind the scenes, processing orders and have big plans ahead.

But I'm concious that I need to give myself time to feel, heal and grieve.

So whilst I may be quiet on here (because to be honest social media as a business owner can be a lot at the best of times 🙃). Know i'mma be back soon.

I turned 44 this week🎉🎂. It was a same same but different birthday. I’m glad I carried on the tradition of the girls trip for my birthday. I’m so grateful to have amazing women around me who were so supportive through the smiles, the laughs and also the tears.

This was a beautiful moment with the lovely of

She picked up her purchase, said how pretty it was, and then said she should probably gift it to someone.

Then she paused.

“It’s enough that it’s for me, isn’t it?”

And I loved that.

Why do we so often feel like the nice things should go to someone else?

We’re so good at being thoughtful.
So good at treating other people.

But when it’s for us, we hesitate.

This is your reminder, that it’s enough that it’s for you.

As a small business, I’m conscious there’s certain things that I can’t do like the big companies for example, next day delivery but what I can (𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘰) do is provide those personal touches like a handwritten note to let you know how much your support means to me.

I’m proud to be a small business who appreciates every order,( 𝘐 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘐 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 “𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨”) who donates to a mental health charity, who’s customers actually get to know the person behind the brand and where every order is handmade.

A win, that wasn’t a full win, that I didn’t celebrate.

At the end of last year, BU was shortlisted for Best Online Business at the Lewisham Business Awards.

I attended the awards ceremony in November and whilst BU didn’t win, it was such a proud moment. To have my small business recognised by my local community meant so much.

I didn’t share much about the awards ceremony at the time, because the following morning, my amazing Dad passed away.

It meant the awards and achievement felt really small in comparison.

But looking back now, I’m allowing myself to hold both grief and gratitude. Sadness and pride.

2026 has already stretched me in ways I didn’t expect. But my business and this beautiful BU community continues to remind me why I started — to create products that support wellbeing, encourage self-care, and help people gift something meaningful.

If you’ve supported BU, whether through a purchase, a message, or simply following — thank you. 💜

Two things can be true at the same time. I think often were too quick to correct ourselves.

We think or say things like “I shouldn’t feel like this.” “I’ve got so much to be grateful for.” “Other people have it worse.”

Of course gratitude is important. But so is honesty.

You can be grateful… and still exhausted.

You can love your life… and still want a break from it.

You can be the strong one… and still wish someone would check in on you.

That doesn’t make you ungrateful. It makes you human.

If this resonated, save it for the next time you start telling yourself you “shouldn’t” feel something or share with someone who needs that reminder. 💜
