The Everlasting Flower Market Has a Problem. We’ve Just Solved It.

They last for years. They travel. They survive a marquee in July. But they’ve never been able to smell like flowers.

So we made Blossom Blume β€” a floral mist designed specifically for dried and faux silk florals, sprayed directly onto the stems so the scent comes from exactly where you expect it.

Two scents. Velvet Peony XO, and English Rose. 100ml, in a reusable glass bottle. Vegan, cruelty free, paraben free, and British made in the Rutland countryside.

Everlasting flowers, finally with everything a flower should have.

A moodboard that doesn't guide your suppliers is just decoration. πŸ’

After a decade designing weddings, Charlie's rule is simple: a good wedding moodboard isn't a mood, it's a brief. A mood inspires you. A brief tells your florist, stationer, linen hire and ribbon supplier exactly which blush you mean, so the bouquet, the menu cards, the napkins and the chair sashes actually belong to the same wedding.

That's why the Moodboard module inside Fannie Fleur stores your palette in HSL, not just hex. Hex looks right on a screen. HSL travels cleanly across materials, so the same colour reads true on silk ribbon, printed ink, washed linen and floral dye.

A practical way to brief your suppliers:

1. Choose four anchor colours, no more.
2. Save each one in HSL so the values travel.
3. Pair every swatch with a texture reference (raw silk, taper wax, pressed petal).
4. Send the same board to every supplier. No exceptions.

The aesthetic is the easy part. The brief is what makes it show up in the room. ✨

How many colours are on your wedding moodboard right now? Be honest in the comments.

The average UK wedding cost tells you nothing useful about YOUR wedding. πŸ’

It's an industry mirror, not a planning tool. Working backwards from Β£20k (or Β£30k, or whatever this year's headline number is) is how couples end up cutting the things they actually wanted to keep.

There's a better way. Build bottom-up.

Start with what you can genuinely afford. Then allocate by percentage, not by what a magazine told you a photographer "should" cost.

Charlie's framework, used inside the Fannie Fleur Budget module:

- Venue and catering: 45–55%
- Photography and video: 10–12%
- Florals and styling: 8–12%
- Attire: 8–10%
- Stationery, cake, transport, music: split the remainder
- Buffer: 10%, non-negotiable

The buffer is where most couples come unstuck. Four line items almost everyone forgets: corkage, supplier meals, wedding insurance, and the tip jar at the end of the night.

Build the budget from your number, not the national average. Track estimated vs actual as you go, and the donut chart inside the Budget module updates live so you always know where you stand.

Your wedding. Your maths. Your peace of mind.

A florist once asked us why a couple's moodboard had 200 images but no colour palette. We didn't have a good answer πŸ’

Most couples build a moodboard like a visual diary. Soft lighting here, a dress they loved there, a tablescape from 2019 they keep revisiting. It's beautiful. It's also unusable. Suppliers don't need inspiration, they need instructions.

Here's the brief that consistently outperforms a sprawling Pinterest board:

1. Four hex swatches. Not "blush and sage", actual codes ( , ). One primary, one secondary, two accents.
2. Twelve well-tagged images. Each one labelled with what it's referencing, the flowers, the linen, the chair styling, the light quality. Not the whole image.
3. Three "absolutely not" references. The styles you keep getting suggested but don't want. Saves everyone a meeting.
4. One sentence describing the feeling. Anchors the palette to an emotion so suppliers know which way to lean when the brief goes quiet.

Twelve tagged images beat 120 vibe pins every time. A florist can quote from a brief. They can't quote from a feeling.

If your moodboard reads like a diary, it's working against your suppliers. Rewrite it as a brief and watch the quotes come back sharper, faster, and closer to what you actually want.

Wedding planning truth bomb: twelve well-tagged images will get you a better florist quote than 120 Pinterest pins. πŸ’

We see it every spring. Couples arrive at their first supplier meeting with a 200-pin board and wonder why the florist keeps asking clarifying questions. The board isn't the problem. The brief is.

A moodboard is a brief, not a feeling. Suppliers can't quote a vibe. Here's what actually moves a conversation from guessing to planning:

1. A four-colour palette with hex codes (not "dusty pink-ish")
2. Every image tagged for what it's showing: texture, scale, composition, or colour temperature
3. One written non-negotiable, in plain English

The shift is immediate. Florists quote with confidence. Stationers stop sending three rounds of proofs. Stylists arrive on the day building the wedding you actually pictured, not the one they guessed at.

If you're in the early design phase, audit your board this week. Cut anything you can't tag. Add the hex codes. Write the one non-negotiable. Your suppliers will thank you, and your budget will too.

Are you spending more time wrangling spreadsheets than choosing your flowers?

If that sounds painfully familiar, you're not alone. It's the quiet cost of planning a wedding without proper tools, and almost every couple we meet is living it.

A few numbers worth knowing πŸ’

β†’ 12–18 months is the typical UK wedding planning timeline (Bridebook, 2024).

β†’ Most couples go over budget, often by thousands, according to Hitched.

β†’ 100+ hours saved when couples plan with pre-built modules instead of a blank document.

Disorganisation is rarely dramatic. It looks like duplicated vendor emails, a guest list living in three different places, and a budget that drifts Β£200 at a time until suddenly it's Β£4,000 off course.

The fix isn't working harder. It's working with structure already built for the job. Think 30+ planning modules covering budgeting, guest management, vendor coordination and timelines, all in one place.

Your wedding deserves your full attention. Your spreadsheets really don't.
