Borneo Studio Borneo was started in 2015 in East London by Andrea Mongenie. Paint and print is the heart and soul of our practice. is applied onto paper, canvas or wood.

t we think is really special. Our framed prints, for example, are printed onto beautifully textured Hahnemuehle paper using an incredibly detailed and vibrant giclée printing process, giving the best possible representation of our work. I personally like the idea that the things we live with hold more meaning than we think. I think a painting can bring back a feeling or a moment you want to keep close, and bring a little bit of that feeling into my everyday life.

These six new works on paper have just gone up on my website. Each one carries a little bit of summer with it: light, water, and those moments that stay with you after the summer is over

I really want to try to make summer last a little longer by holding on to the feelings of it and bringing it into the coming winter

The interconnection between all the paintings is mad sometimes. They all have a mysterious link between each other

I like that they’re all connected in ways I don’t always plan. Sometimes I only see the link afterwards

I think that’s probably what I love most about painting : there’s always something new to notice, learn, try and paint

Thank you to all the curious and adventurous minds who climbed all the way down the hill from MABA, got lost in the labyrinth that is the Parc des Artistes, and stumbled upon my studio to discover my work, the work of the other artists in the hameaux, and have a chat with me

It’s a painting I painted and it’s too hot for a long caption but it’s a great painting and it deserves a great wall. Manifesting a great wall belonging to great people. Have a great hot day I know I’m sweating but at least I’m sweating surrounded by paintings 🫰 my brain has left baaay
