Sustainable, contemporary, quality for interior designers. Soie de Lune is a fabric editor with a hand weaving workshop in Laos. It takes its inspiration from traditional Lao woven designs, which are some of the most intricate in the world. The company was set up to harness and to preserve traditional weaving skills to ensure this unique artistic endeavour survives for future generations. Preserving our gifted artisans’ skills can only be done by building on solid business practices to make this woven art self-sustaining and always producing top-quality fabric with a contemporary feel for today’s market.

Luang Double, in form.

On the Ondas Bench by Alexander Lamont, Luang Double follows the generous curves of the upholstered form. Its slubby weave gives the broad surface texture and depth, introducing detail without relying on a bold pattern.

Seen at this scale, the textile’s character becomes part of the furniture’s presence in the room.

Luang Double.

Developed for upholstery and mixed use, Luang Double is handwoven in Laos with a distinctive slubby texture.
Its weave brings depth to upholstered furniture, giving designers a way to introduce tactile detail without relying on a bold pattern.

Luang takes its name from Wat Chedi Luang in Chiang Mai. The great chedi was conceived in the image of Mount Meru — the sacred centre of the universe in Buddhist cosmology.

Available in a range of colourways, from quiet neutrals to more expressive tones.
