Golden hour, turquoise tides, and the kind of calm you can almost step into ✨🌊

These two new pieces from my Coastal Light Collection were created from that feeling of standing quietly by the sea — where the sky softens, the water glows, and everything slows down for a moment.

One holds the softness of early light and blush skies, the other the warmth of sunset clouds drifting over still water. Together, they’re a reminder of the peace and freedom the coast always brings me.

The coast always calls me back.

When the noise gets too loud. When the to-do list feels endless. When I’ve lost the thread of myself somewhere between emails and errands — I come here.

I stand at the edge of the land and let the sea do its thing. It doesn’t ask anything of me. It just moves, and breathes, and reminds me that the world is bigger and slower than my inbox suggests.

This is where I reset. Where the static clears. Where I remember what matters and what doesn’t.

We all need a place like this. Somewhere that holds us without asking us to perform. Somewhere that asks nothing except that we show up and breathe.

For me, it’s always been the Cornish coast.

There’s a place I return to again and again — a quiet horizon where the sky softens, the water stretches endlessly ahead, and everything feels lighter.

Where I Go to Be Free was inspired by that feeling of escape. The soft, hazy light dissolves the edges of the landscape, creating a dreamlike space between sea and sky. Gentle clouds drift across a vibrant pink horizon, while the rich blues below invite you to pause, breathe, and simply be.

This painting is about freedom—not necessarily a place you can find on a map, but a feeling. A moment of calm. A release from noise and expectation. A reminder that peace often lives in the spaces we create for ourselves.

For me, it echoes those childhood dreams of slipping beneath the waves into a world of quiet beauty, where worries fade and only colour, light, and possibility remain.
