The interaction I had in Home Bargains with this cashier made me smile from ear to ear and I had to share it with Bec and you because he just made my day and I am just so proud of you .and.pearls and what you have created in

Honestly life is just these precious moments of joy and I’m so glad I captured this one. As if he asked me if it was difficult to iron?! Home bargains you have a treasure there.

The summer madness took me away but I’m back and raring to go 🏃‍♀️

After 4 weeks of slightly traumatic work/parent juggle we spent 2 weeks in France - the longest holiday we’ve had for long time 🏖️

Baguettes & Croissants from the bakery, seeing Giant Pandas chilling and Hippos floating (the dangling feet!) running to the Eiffel Tower and back along the Seine before Paris had woken up, espresso at the local cafe, holding hands with my tween on the swingy cable car, jewellery making all morning with nowhere to be, laughing with friends, pretty French towns in the evening, a great book, beautiful, chic Paris and magical Disneyland.

What a lovely summer, now back to work! 💛💛💛

We are soaking up beautiful and very HOT Paris this week, staying in a beautiful apartment thanks to HomeExchange | #1 Home Swapping Community

With a 12 & 13 year old I don’t get to do everything I would want to but we did sneak out today for a couple of hours went for an AMAZING coffee fringe - coffee, granola & photography and popped into Petit Pan which was top of my list of shops to visit.

We discovered this brand when we went to a trade show in Frankfurt in February and it was instant infatuation. They do colour, pattern and beautiful product and they do it so well. So add this treasure trove to your list of places to visit in Paris!

Came away with a cute new lampshade and cushion 💛💛💛

Learning to live with conflicting emotions and tension is a life skill isn’t it? You learn as you get older that life can be at the same time beautiful and frustrating. And the school summer holidays are full of the most tension for me. It happens every year and I’m never prepared. The business feels at its peak of busyness in terms of prepping for the Christmas period, and the kids are getting older and not really into clubs anymore.
 So we’re getting by, and I feel lucky that I get to be here for them, making them snacks and telling them they need a break from their screens and snatching little moments where we chat and connect.

I’m trying to be at peace with a messy house, a to do list that never gets shorter, and tasks that remain uncompleted. Some days it works, some days it doesn’t! But yesteday was on reflection pretty good. A sunny supermarket meal deal picnic and a night off from being a parent and a really tasty meal 🥘

I’m trying to stay thankful and calm, and using journalling, HRT, and exercise as my main ways of keeping happy! How are you doing?

…don’t compare yourself to other mums, or that version of a ‘mum’ that you think you should be.

Focus on what you CAN do this summer not what you can’t. Don’t waste any time feeling guilty or beating yourself up🙅‍♀️

Focus on being the best mum YOU can be, not anyone else’s version. You have specific skills, talents and strengths that you bring to being a mum. Focus on them and not the fact that you can’t take 6 weeks off work to be with your kids every day.

You are a brilliant mum and you are teaching your kids how to work hard and how to be resilient and creative under pressure, amongst many other things I’m sure!!!!
