The home includes many bespoke treatments, including a beautiful oak and glass grand staircase, custom chandelier with 57 hand blown spheres and a 6m wide decorative “wall of light” alongside the basement pool. Additionally, Paul and his team are producing new designs for a grade II listed early Victorian town house in Islington and a unique and stunning seafront property in Westcliffe - photos to follow. Other residential commissions include the design and fit-out of apartment and terrace in Marylebone for the musician Ellie Goulding, the interior scheme and terrace structure, furniture and lighting design and fit-out for a Highbury Stadium Square penthouse, the design and build of a contemporary bachelor pad games room loft extension in Essex and a Mid Century Modern residential refurbishment in East Dulwich. Commercial schemes include the refurbishments of reception lobbies and common areas in residential apartment buildings across London, including Shoreditch, Wapping, Whitehall, Tottenham Court Road and Limehouse. Paul has also redesigned interiors for advertising agencies in Farringdon and Shepherds Bush. As an Associate Member of the British Institute of Interior Design, Paul enjoys playing an active role in the industry. There were some fun and unexpected pieces at Design Miami, Paris that caught my eye.

I always enjoy revisiting the pieces that stood out to me after a design fair, particularly imagining how they might work beyond the exhibition setting and within a home.

Swipe through to see a few of my favourites.

A full day at Decorex! It was great to catch up with Carmen from Fritz Fryer Lighting , and learn more about their new beautiful collections.

I also stopped by Aeven’s A Seat at the Table installation, where there was an incredible collection of furniture and British craftsmanship on display. Great to interact with the new Blossom lamps by Original BTC too! A few pieces at the bar that I’d be very happy to find a home for in future projects!

And some time in the VIP area was a treat in itself, with some beautifully considered spaces and plenty of interesting details.

A sourcing day at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour.

It’s one of those places where you can see so much under one roof. Fabrics, finishes, furniture and plenty of ideas that inevitably have you stopping along the way.

This visit had a purpose though. I headed to Romo, Fabrics & Wallcoverings to source for my Loughton living room project, working through their huge selection of fabrics to find the right combinations for the scheme.

Can’t wait to share what was picked.

Our Upminster project is underway!

There’s a lot happening within this space: a completely new kitchen with a generous island, a relaxed garden room, bespoke bench and banquette seating, a redesigned utility room and a TV snug with a bookcase concealing a secret door.

The details are getting interesting too. We’re introducing a dropped picture-frame detail around the ceiling with integrated lighting, alongside concealed lighting above the cabinetry. Each can be controlled independently, allowing us to completely change the atmosphere of the room.

Much of the bespoke cabinetry has already been fabricated by , and it’s brilliant to see the plans beginning to become a reality on site.

More from this one as it progresses.

We covered quite a lot of ground at Shoreditch Design week!

At House of ICON, Black Pear and CLAUD CHRISTIAN • Design Studio caught my eye, while Material Matters offered a very different perspective, including work by exploring consumerism and Zieta Studio.

We also stopped by ’s new showroom on Clerkenwell Green for the Very Simple: Kitchen launch. A great setting for it, surrounded by pieces from across@SCPLtd’s collection, including a Charles Eames chair that was hard to walk past without stopping.

Seeing so many different approaches in the space of a few hours always gets you thinking. New materials, familiar forms approached differently, and plenty of ideas to mull over afterwards.

There’s something exciting about arriving on site when the possibilities are still wide open.

I’m at our Benfleet project, where we’re currently working through the planning and layout before I put pen to paper on the interior concepts.

This is the stage where I start thinking about how the room should function, the flow between the spaces and small details that can elevate the experience of living in the completed home.

Lots to get stuck into with this one.

Looking forward to sharing the ideas as they start taking shape!

Photographing every stage of a project is part of my process.

Interior design projects can take months to complete, so having those references to look back on and see just how far a space has come can be incredibly rewarding.
